Mobile phone signals,

Just out of interest, how is your mobile phone signal lately? Im on T-Mob/Orange and for the last few weeks its almost totally useless, is it the weather? Too much technology and we were better off with the old mobile phones not the smart ones? Earth magnetic field problems?

Mobile phone signals,

You're not using a "phone", you're using a radio transceiver which transmits to and receives signals from your nearest mast.

As such, they can be interferred with by many devices, the weather and the activity of the Sun.

The new G4 service may interfere with some Freeview signals and the mast equipment or the "phone" may be subject to spurious emissions.

Mobile phone signals,

I dunno about "flip" Pete.

Reversals occur over 1,000 years or more but there are "excursions" which disrupt the magnetic field but don't actually result in a reversal.

hi cd, the mid Atlantic ridge  has magnetic records proving the fact that the lava that poured from the sea bed as the European plate and the American plate drift apart, some of the ridges are N/S in magnetic polarity and others are S/N in magnetic polarity, an event that could only happen if the earths magnetic field had reversed or flipped.

Mobile phone signals,

I'm on Orange, and whereas I normally get a good signal at home, for the last month or so I've had 'No Signal' at home.

Yet this last week it's come back, as strong as before but now instead of 'Orange' it now shows 'EE'.
