Leonard and Lorraine were a young couple living together. At first things were fine, but then a young neighbour start making eyes at Len, giving him come hither glances, which led to friction. Len denied any wrongdoing, accusing Lorraine of being paranoid, but in truth things happened behind her back. Then one night there was an almighty row where Lorraine packed her bags and threatened to walk out. In desperation he drove her to a beauty spot at Beachy Head, near the lighthouse, hoping the sea air might calm things down. It didn't though, and in the struggle that followed Lorraine lost her footing at the edge of the cliff, and down into the English Channel she went, 530' below. There was nothing he could do. As he drove quietly back to London he started humming a number from Johnny Nash and then sang the words:
"I can see clearly now, Lorraine has gone, I can see all my problems float away, I can see clearly now..."
