But I don't know what they are called so I can't do a search for one. What I need is either a doofah or a gizmo that will let me charge a Sat Nav device that only has a lead to charge from a cig lighter.
If you understand what I mean, gizza clue.
Ta very much,
Steve

Mains charger?

burton .... Thanks for the reply but no, that's not the doofah that I mean. That is a standard in-car charger and I already have one of those. Let me try again.
Imagine that you have a charger that works off the vehicle's cigarette lighter but you want to charge the device while at home. The doofah that I'm looking for will have a UK 3-pin plug at one end, some kind of transformer device in the middle and a socket for a cig lighter plug on the other end. There may not even be such a thing but, if there is, I want one, lol.

patch ..... A mains charger would do the job but I'd rather do it my way if possible. Reason being that I have lots of gizmos that can be charged in the car but having 2 sets of leads to cart around can be problematic. just being able to use one lead for all may work and it may not. I just want to try it and see what happens.

There is a very small town in eastern Oregon, back out beyond, south of the Dales. It's named "Dufer." It'w not much of a town, really, just a road stop, a cafe, gas station, and ninety-four houses of ill repute. Typical of the west. Nothing special. But people would say, "Well, that'll dufer Oregon," as they left the town (and the houses) and drove north towards Washington state. That's how the town got its name.
Honest, you can believe me! Would I fib? What? Me Moi!? Certainly not! Well, maybe just a little bit...

Just as a matter of interest, the Doofah suggested by Stan has now turned up on my doormat. It seems to be just what I wanted but I have not had it long enough to see if it charges from zero yet but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't.. I can charge a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, an iPod, a TomTom SatNav unit and Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 phone/tablet.
I must add that I dare say that ALL doofahs of this kind will do the same so it matters not a jot who you buy it from.
Cheers all
Stevie
