OMG! They are enormous.

What horrible looking beasts they look.

I got stung by some horseflies above my eye in the summer, had to take antihistamines as swelled up like a boxer!

We may have rubbish summers here, but at least our insect populations are relatively benign.

I went on holiday to Corfu once and they did have hornets there that were pretty scary.  But nothing compared to those Asian ones.
