I am thinking of getting a cleaner what should I do about keys?
What do people do if there not indoors.....
1) Do they leave keys in a safe place outside?
2) Do they hand a spare key over?
3) Or do they collect keys the night before and drop them off to you through the letterbox?

Perfectly ok to give the cleaner a key if he/she is a professional cleaner... providing you have at least two references from their existing customers (preferably telephone calls as existing customers can outline quirks, benefits etc) and have their address contact details, not just a mobile number. You could drop off the key prior to their first visit just to check out the address.
Saying all the above can count for nothing sometimes... my niece just recently sacked her cleaner when she discovered she came for just 10 minutes and took money for 3 hours... Only found out from child sitter (child ill at home) when child sitter asked my niece if that was normal?! She had glowing references...

Lol, and probably hotly denied as the thing to do by the Police Commissioner.
