We wear black and the yellow bits are harnesses - the front spots (upper circle) are clipped onto ropes all the time (don't want to fall down 2 levels and kill a member of the audience. Back spots (above stage) clip in sometimes - also for rescue purpose - say , you fall up there break a leg and can't climb down the ladder anymore...
