a fair price for a Mobile DJ for a 5 hour evening party is please?
I have had quotes coming in for what I think are silly high prices and as I have never hired one before I don't know what a fair price should be.
If there is anyone in the know I would appreciate a reply, so I can compare, many thanks.

If all the quotes are similar it is probably the going rate!

Rather a diifcult question to answer... It really depends on so many factors...
Time of year
The day
The Time
What type of equipment does the DJ have.. This will be costed into his pricing
Distance to the gig
Full time DJ or Part Time
You must decide what you are prepared to pay...
Remember.. if you pay £150 for a cheap one as opposed to £200.. and he is rubbish... you haven't saved £50 ..you have wasted £150...
What time do you want me round?

Awwwwwww, thank you for your replies.
I'd never really thought of it in terms of what equipment, where and seasonal.
Just thought music for a few hours and pay.
I have been quoted £300 and that seems rather a lot for 5 hours music and a bit of banter, I haven't got £300 so I guess I will have to find a way of coming up with some music.
Mr Expresso........................ermmmmmm how much?????

Weekday or a Saturday.
My friend is a fully professional entertainer offering live music, and his fee for Saturday evenings is more than weekdays.

My friend would do a mixture of live music and disco for £200 weekdays or £250 Saturday
Also country disco and line dance tuition for the same price.

mmmmmmm, I want it for a Saturday, I just want a simple disco, one suitable for all ages though as it is family and freinds. I'm doing things for the kiddies anyway.

They do seem over priced to me, how about a couple of rotating disco balls and a couple of party cd's put them in a corner and your off . To be honest no one seems to take any notice of the dj anyway until late evening when they have all had a drink.
If you look on the big river you can get a proper disco cd as well.

That is an option Dr whos assistant, thank you. It may have to come to that lol.
I don't really want it to as I don't think it will be quite the same atmosphere, so I shall have to keep ringing around, I do have a little time left to try anyway.
