Last hope that someone on here might remember a TV show where people had to write a play and the winner got it played on TV.

The "winning" play was something about a bloke who was on a hospital bed, but he was having an 'out of body' experience. He'd been drink driving and had an accident....... he had a choice of dying or spending the rest of his life paralysed..... his time limit was four minutes before he was declared dead.

"Already Dead" or "4 minutes Dead" springs to mind.

It's not me that is trying to remember it, I'm just asking on behalf of someone else.

I have no recollections of anything like that so has anyone any idea about this?

Have you got an approx year for it?.

I'd already found "Write a play", 1965-1967 and I don't know if it was part of that.

However, the person concerned can only remember that it was "long ago" and the few snippets of info in my OP that's why I entitled the thread "A long shot".

I was never one for "Drama" so I guess I never watched it.

All I could think of was "The singing detective" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Singing_Detective but is well passed your aired dates as it aired in1986.
