Exactly the same for me. Get some gobbledegook about a bot detected.
Nothing at all changed to the settings on my TV or browser, so must be the ebay/webos interface.
Contacted ebay but just got the same as I could find via an online search, blaming java (enabled on my browser, always has been)

What kind of browser?

Any chance you can update it or change it? [A quick check appears to rule that out.]
Can you sign in to ebay.ie or ebay.com?
Sometimes that bot message can be the result of a broken link redirect causing a loop; see if you can use an alternative sign-in link for the UK site.

Thanks for your input but have tried all of these, and everything ebay suggests.
The browser is WebOS on an LG smart TV.
The LG browser is generally poor, seemingly unable to keep up with the evolution of website technology, but I suggest it is an ebay issue.

Sorry - can't help with the answer - but more for interest as we were intrigued from our company website analytics that people used their TV browser.
Why are you using the TV browser to browse the web? As someone has said above - the browser on the LG TV is not great (in fact the whole OS on those TVs seems to be generally really slow) so just intrigued as to the use case!

eBay like to place a special cookie on your computer when you log in
maybe your TV won't accept this cookie so it thinks you are a bot
No idea how to make a TV accept cookies other than putting them in the DVD drawer though....

Neck issue. Easier to look straight ahead and the magic remote is excellent. Just a shame about this glitch and neither LG nor Ebay seems inclined to fix it.

Sorry to hear that, but relieved that I'm not the only one....was getting a complex.

Thanks for the suggestion, but cookies have always been enabled and I've cleared them a few times and started again as I've been trying to fault diagnose.
