Raised this in the weekly chats and it's been mentioned by many other members. Searching for products such as 'blue topaz solitaire ring' brings up endless results from United States and India. UK buyers are going to want to see items from UK sellers, Why is this so difficult for ebay to understand and sort out the platform so that it shows relevant results for the country you are in?
Reason why I raise this again as clearly nothing comes from the weekly chats!
I know results can be manually filtered to show only UK sellers but why are UK sellers not prioritised over worldwide sellers on the UK site?

Into that same search i enter in a specific artist or title which i guess could be classed as 'homing in' on an item. Its more on the refined search that ebay include items which i can not see as pertinent to what im looking for.
One reason could be what folks have added to item specifics erroneously, but i can not confirm that obviously.
You should be able to look at the item-specifics of a listing to determine if your keywords are there or not. There are steps you can take to avoid the listings of sellers that include inappropriate keywords; this is particularly an issue in automotive parts listings where some sellers include multiple pages of "compatible vehicle" information to ensure the sellers' items appear in the most possible search results regardless of relevance.
If you give an example of a search that provides results you think are not pertinent, I might be able to make some suggestions to get better results. If you are willing to share a link to your search results, I might be able to provide a more narrowly targeted search link you can use.
In general, it is easy to avoid false positives (items you aren't looking for that do turn up in your search), or false negatives (items you are interested that do not turn up in a search), but it can be very hard to do both of those at the same time in the same search. It may be better to perform two or more searches: one that is narrowly targeted so you can quickly check new items listed every day, and then a more general search that may find results that the first search misses that you can check once in a while, but that may require poring over some irrelevant results to be sure you see every possible relevant one.

That's a great tip... I didn't know about that one. Thanks.
You are very welcome -- glad to hear that!
