GLOBAL SHIPPING NOT SHOWING CALCULATED COSTS.

This problem has been ongoing for over 2 weeks now. I have some listing that I have chosen Global Shipping for international sales. The problem is this = When I click on Postage - See Details - then change Country  from UK to USA or any other Country, it would normally give the calculated shipping costs for that Country including all tax, custom duty etc.  

It now just states " CHECK ITEM DESCRIPTION OR CONTACT SELLER "  I have  items that would  normally  be sold to USA within a short time, but now I have zero watchers. 

From checking other peoples listings, this seems to be a problem affecting private sellers only since 4thFeb. 

This would also explain the lack of interest and no sales. So I urge private sellers to check their listing as  they may be unaware and wondering why no sales. 

I have spoken to Ebay twice and each time they have acknowledged the problem and stated they would pass the problem across to their technical team.  As of today Global Shipping is still not working!!

Hi, I have this too, again since 4th Feb and I am private seller. I have raised it twice, today was told I'm the only one who has!!! It's drastically affecting our sales and each time an told they are raising a ticket and then nothing. Has anyone heard back about a fix?

Thank you for your information. There are many, many sellers saying the same thing on Community page. How long does it take to fix a problem?  Does Ebay not realise they are losing sales if international potential buyers cannot see their expected shipping costs before buying?

So together with the Ebay Putoff Fee and delayed payments, private sellers have also been excluded from selling to the rest of the world via GSP for weeks! Talk about progress!!!

Yes  pauuk.35za36  I agree.  I have spoken to technical services twice over the past 2 weeks, also raised the problem here. I had a reply from Ebay agent Kate at  on here last Thursday saying " It has been passed to technical services team "  Still nothing has been done!!  

No wonder nothing is selling internationally if they can't get  the cost with Global Shipping.

Hi Kat, thank you for your reply however, another 2 weeks has now passed and this issue is still not fixed. It is very hard to believe that this is really being treated as a priority as it is now 5 weeks since it was first raised. Either it's not really a priority or eBay needs to invest in some smarter IT people who can fix things. Perhaps you could post us all an update with an expected fix date. Thanks.

I couldn't have put it better myself. Thank you. International sales are non existent at the moment. Technical Services are doing nothing, sellers and Ebay are losing out big time. This requires urgent attention, we all would like a time scale when this will be sorted please.

I understand how frustrating this can be and apologise for the inconvenience caused. We don't have an exact timescale on this but our team is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We continue to link in with tech on this and once they confirm it being resolved I will update back here.

I don't understand how an organisation as big as Ebay can introduce a change (buyer protection fee) which then breaks a vital part of their selling platform. Surely tests would have been done prior to the introduction and the introduction could have been delayed until this was resolved. I could understand if this issue was more of a pleasure of life measure but stopping millions of pounds of international transactions from happening is just unbelievable to me, together with the lack of any announcement to sellers.

I quite agree. All we can do is keep putting pressure on Ebay to get it fixed. The more sellers make Ebay aware of the problem the better.

This is appalling behaviour by ebay. International has been broken for almost 2 weeks - surely they could warn you it's not working as soon as you tick the box. Mind you, it's hardly worth having it with the extra international postage and foreign exchange charges - free selling indeed. Something must be up - maybe they've fallen out with Pitney Bowes or maybe pauuk.35za36 above is right and they broke it when they changed to "free selling" - nice of them to keep their customers informed though!

Stating the virtues of the GSP yet no mention whatsoever of the fact that it isn't working! I guess it is effortless to leave something broken for weeks quite the play on words!

Thanks for pointing out todays announcement regarding Global Shipping.  What a farce!  I think we all need to bombard Ebay now with this problem and see if we can get it sorted.

A friend just noticed this issue today. They had an enquiry about an item from someone asking for a discount, saying the shipping to the US was very expensive. So, they must have been able to see the Global Shipping price from their side.

My friend tested this by looking at their own items on eBay.com via a vpn, and the GSP prices were displaying ok. 

So it would appear that the problem is only on this side, with the Global Shipping prices NOT displaying for the seller, when the item location is changed. Have to wonder why it is taking eBay so long to fix this?!

It seem it is rather hit & miss. Some are showing costs and others not. Very annoying. Thank for the info.

As you mentioned in your original post, I expect there will be a lot of private sellers that are not aware of this issue. 

Personally, I much preferred the old 'Postage & payments' tab, that used to be right next to the 'About this item' tab. I don't like the 'pop-up' postage details box. I keep forgetting where it is, and still look for the tab. I wish eBay would stop moving things around!

This is not the case.

I was wondering why I was getting very little interest in a number of items, and then found out that there was no shipping cost gor GSP items. BUT IT IS A PROBLEM FOR BOTH POTENTIAL BIDDERS AND THE SELLER! I rang my daughter who lives in California and got her to check a listing - NO SHIPPING COST SHOWING AT HER END.

Same here frazer199310.   A previous buyer in USA checked for me and said it just states " Will post to USA. See seller for shipping costs "  Even when opted in to GSP . Contacted Ebay multiple times only to be told the same old story. " Technical services are aware of the problem. Can't give a time when will be fixed " 

Just keep bombarding Ebay, only then may we get something done.
