ENOUGH: PLEASE BRING BACK THE CATEGORY FILTERS

Yet again we see that Ebay have removed the ability to filter when browsing through any category when using a laptop or pc. 'Its on the app so whats the problem?'.. I dont buy through the app, I find that information is hidden on the app plus I prefer using a larger screen. Filtering saves time, creates quicker sales and better connects.

I truly appreciate that removing selling fees means that some things need to be cut back. However, the poor structure currently used for browsing is a major put off. For me, the whole idea of browsing is to help narrow down!

PLEASE BRING BACK THE CATEGORY FILTERS!!!!

Also, (final rant), who's idea was it to include AI descriptions? The amount of listings that have used AI descriptions with glaring errors and misinformation about the item being sold is just asking for trouble for the seller..

Peace, light and love

Chris..

While you are waiting for eBay to restore those filter options, as a workaround try searching using a keyword instead of browsing.

If you are browsing a category, try searching using the category name as your keyword(s) if you cannot think of appropriate keywords. In some cases you can use your filter option as a search keyword if it appears in the item-specifics.

ENOUGH: PLEASE BRING BACK THE CATEGORY FILTERS

I  really appreciate the reply, and believe me I've tried every workaround. Inserting a keyword is fine if you are looking for socks, or tent, for example, as it gives a large array of choice to browse through and filter. However, if you wish to browse a sub category, such as synthesizers or scalextric you cannot narrow down nearest sellers or whether they are a Uk seller. The search always defaults to 'GBR' and if I click on an item I find, I end up on ebay.com (not UK) and I have to log in just to watch the item... which also doesnt work as it wont let me log in!!!!

Have tried the sub category search, using the sub name, but I get maybe 200 of the 5k items listed, and it still defaults to 'GBR' location. I've also gone into the advanced search, but that defaults me to a USA origin again.

My point is that if I want to 'browse' a category or sub category I am trapped in ebay default world where I cant chose the country, or if local sellers have listings that I wouldn't have thought about.

One of ebays great joys over many years has been serendipity. Ebays filters create that, not many other sites do that!

Unfortunately the trick of searching using the category name does not always work if the category name has an ampersand in it, or if eBay has changed the name in an inconsistent fashion.

Try this instead as a starting point for Synthesizers:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=%28synthesizers%2Csynthesizer%2Csynth%2C0%2C1%2C2%2C3%2C4%2C5...

8500+ results for the search as opposed to 8871 for the category, at least for me in my location. You may see different results in your location. It may not find every possible result, but it is better than nothing if you want to be able to filter your results.

Try this search for Scalextric:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=Scalextric+%26+Slot+Cars&_sacat=2616&_sop=10

That search seems to work much better for me than the synthesizer search using the category name.
