I recently sold an item, processed and printed the label for the buyer to say they could collect it, which they did. I've looked and I cannot cancel the label now and eBay have my funds on hold until the parcel is "delivered" which obviously now it's not going to be. The buyer has left positive feedback regarding the item & I also have multiple messages to prove that she has received it & is happy with it. How do I now get my funds released as this new system makes it so difficult to find any resolution?!

You should be able to cancel the label, but you will have to wait the full 14 days for the payment to be released, in the same way as if you had sent it untracked.
It's not a good idea to allow a buyer to collect an item listed for postage, or vice versa, as you won't have the right evidence for the release of the funds, or for seller protection from an item not received claim.

A collection item needs a QR code to be scanned or the number manually entered to show collection there is no other way to confirm this.
With nothing to prove collection your payout will be held for 14 days, feedback does not count for items over the value of £10.
One tip it's wise not to release a collection item without this code, with no proof o collection a buyer can easily open a case for item not received, and you'd be forced to refund.

I've tried to cancel the label - it just states "this postage label can't be cancelled" - there is no other option or other information I can follow up on so I have no idea what else I can do.

Hi, so what do I need to do if it won't let me cancel the label then surely eBay won't just give me the payment after 14 days because it'll still be classed as not delivered?

Hi @kathrynscott2011 ,
It seems like the postage used for the transaction was eBay's simple delivery. This would be why the label cannot be cancelled. If the label is not used it will automatically get refunded. As there will be no delivery confirmation due to it be collected the funds will become available after 14 days.
Thank you,
Kat

Hi Kat,
Thanks for your advice regarding this. I'm just a bit concerned that even if the label is refunded after 14 days that eBay still won't release the funds because they'll have no proof the buyer has the parcel, so would they not just refund the buyer instead of making the funds available to me?
Thanks

Hi @kathrynscott2011 ,
That's understandable. However the 14 days applies to non tracked items. We’ve learned through historical data that most packages are delivered within this timeframe, so it allows enough time for the buyer to receive their item.
Thank you,
Kat
