Refunded Buyer through PayPal however Ebay saying Refund failed?

I forgot to remove my listings off Ebay before the lockdown and a Buyer purchased an item from me and paid via PayPal. I messaged the Buyer back immediately, saying that the listing was on there in error and he would get a full refund. I cancelled the order (however no contact from Buyer yet and no cancellation from their end). I tried to refund the buyer in full on PayPal however I didn't have enough funds so had to transfer some money from my bank account into my PayPal which took a few days (I know, ridiculous!). I was then able to refund the Buyer in full via PayPal. The funds have gone from my PayPal account (confirmed) however I got a message from Ebay saying the Refund failed: "You approved a refund request, but there was a problem issuing a refund from your payment account to the buyer. Please contact your payment provider so they can help resolve the problem quickly." I checked with PayPal and it confirms in my account balance that the money has been refunded. No way of contacting Ebay or PayPal during this lockdown which is a nightmare! The Buyer then contacted me saying they got the same message however they did not cancel the order? I messaged them back to confirm order was cancelled and i refunded them via PayPal and I would be grateful if they can check if they have received the funds back, no reply as yet. I am unsure what to do next!

The message from ebay would have related to the refund when you did not have the funds available.

 

What does the symbol next to the item  in your sold items say now, has the Paid Symbol changed to the refunded Symbol?
