Adding to a description after a bid has been placed?

Hello

eBay says that I should be able to add to the description after a bid has been placed. But how? Any answers gratefully received.

It's here on the link https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/listings/creating-managing-listings/revising-listing?id=4356 click on 'more than 12 hours remaining', and then on 'item has bids'.

And incidentally, how do I repond to messages on here? Haven't been on the message boards for *years*!

Thanks

It's not possible. You can't edit a listing once you have a bid, for obvious reasons. If an agent told you that, they were either unaware that the auction had a bid, or they need to be retrained.

As explained it is possible to add to description but it is below the bottom of the description AND existing bidders will not see it and new bidders are unlikely to look that far down.

You must bear in mind that bids are placed on the information that the bidder reads. If the information is added to and seriously affects the description, they might not have bid in the first place so you could be inviting cases of Not As Described.

If the extra info. is really important it may be worth considering ending and relisting, with the correct information. You can always message the bidders with an explanation. You will however incur a 10% fee.

You should be able to add additional info which will appear at the bottom end of the actual listing.

You cannot change or add to the actual item description within the main body of the listing.

This info is clearly explained in the link you were kind enough to include.
