Change to Manage Active Listings layout

Manage active listings no longer has the Summary at the top - showing at a glance Bids, Watchers, Questions etc

I have 2 Ebay accounts.  One has the Summary at the top of Manage Active listings - shows number of bids, watchers etc.  The other used to but now doesn't - I now have to click on the filter buttons - drop down to get information.

How do I reinstate the Summary?

I'm not a fan of this at all, but, by nature, don't like change, I'll learn to work with it.

No, eBay doesn’t seem to care! Why can’t they respect our wishes and reverse this action?
It’s absolutely disgusting!

The new layout is of no use to me and I cannot see the point of the change. Can I have the old Active Listings layout back? I would like to see if anyone has bid on my items.

Change to Manage Active Listings layout

This explains a lot!  I thought something had turned into an over complicated blind spot.  Mine was changed ages ago and I never got around working with the change and even ended up missing return/cases being raised as I didn't seem to see them when they were definately in view before.  The new layout is an overly complicated way to hide everything relevant to sellers.  If you have any volume of listings, this is the wrong way to go about streamlining.  I have been muddling through with it.  Just found this forum and not suprised nobody else likes it.

We are humans needing human interfaces.  We are not bots able to process parenthese listings item by item in KBD tree structures.  What looks good in a text book for a server system is NOT good for a human in the real world.

anita@ebay  Please add my name to the roll back list.  Also, please put a flag against my account to avoid any changes to anything at any time, forever.  I can just about manage to orgainse dispatch and managment of the account, mainly because orders are so low these days and I've significanlty reduced the number of listings.  I have a special folder of page links to get to what I need.  Don't change anything again as frequently happens forcing me to have to re-discover all the missing links.

The only people who should be working on any changes are those who run selling sites, with volume on a daily basis.  The layout of all the selling pages would then look very different from what they are now.

For feedback, I abandoned using the app on a phone years ago - a complete mess either for buying or selling.  It should be pulled, no really it should be abandoned - it is doing a lot of damage to the image on eBay when compared to the apps on other platforms.  Oh, and the search is still a complete failure.  People are not geting used to it nor under going a settling in period, they are going to google and finding stuff there, listed on other sites and then buying on other sites.

Change to Manage Active Listings layout

Hi All,

Just advising here as Anita's previous replies there isn't any list that we can get actioned to revert accounts back. We don't have control over that aspect.

What we are doing is sharing your views and experiences with the relevant team on this change. We ask that you also send your feedback through the link at the bottom of the page so its recorded.

You should have a question mark button at the bottom of the page, then Send feedback.

Change to Manage Active Listings layout

Hello Kat

It seems rather strange that Anita managed to get our Manage Active Listings page returned to normal when I first reported the problem with my sirjake2nd account.

As to the question mark at the bottom of the page - on my Active Listings page it doesn't exist.

Hello again Kat

I've now found the question mark but I still don't understand that my previous complaint to Anita brought about change that apparently now can no longer be achieved.

Change to Manage Active Listings layout

Hi @ladyemm ,

As it was initially reported as a technical issue your account was changed back. However upon further investigation it is actually part of a testing phase for possible future changes in the layout.  This would be why I mentioned there is no list that can be actioned as its not a tech issue.

Most instances the accounts go back to the old layout as it is a testing phase. We share the experiences from this thread to show the sentiment on the changes but its also important for you and the others to send the feedback through your account.

Thank you,

Kat

Change to Manage Active Listings layout

kat@ebay, I used to make a many comments in the various feedback boxes voicing the same opinion as in the majority in the chats.

Sorry, but I have yet to see one single change I have to encountered be rolled back  - ever.  Not a single instance despite a torrent of opposition at times.

As I say above, if those designing the UI for sellers were actual sellers and routinely used the UI, the UI would look very different to what it does - not just a couple of bench tests but a real world shop even if simulated and requiring constant attention.

The 'test' layout on my page, the summary, is still in the 'test' layout and has not been reversed.

Giving feedback is provided to allow a vent to off load 'change' frustration and then expect us to settle in with the change. But, many of us have tried to give REAL feedback which has been completely ignored, year in year out.  Many of us have therefore given up.

Hi @ladyemm ,

We don't have a timeline for that right now. The testing phase is ongoing.

Change to Manage Active Listings layout

Hello Kat

Personally I think the 'testing' phase has gone on long enough.  It is tiresome to use the new layout.  Using Ebay with the original Manage Active Listings Summary is quick and easy.  It gives me all the information I want in one glance at the page.

It could be that the new layout is better when using a smart phone - I don't know.  Not everyone uses a smart phone.  Perhaps there should be the option to change back/opt out of the new layout?

If the only way to get it re-instated is to call it a technical fault please do so.

Regards  Mary

I've worked with this for over two weeks now , and now come to the conclusion it's messy, not user friendly, filter navigation side bar options are awkward and badly worded.

Left feedback saying so.
The only positive I do have to say is the ability to search by SKU or title without having to select a drop down option is useful.

Change to Manage Active Listings layout

Dear Anita/eBay,

I would like to know why all these sudden changes have taken place in eBay during the last 5 years ?

The original eBay experience of the 2000''s and 2010's was really great, User friendly and straight forward to use...

The eBay experience of 2024 is SLOW, BUGGY and VERY POOR for both SELLERS and BUYERS alike.

The searches now bring over populated results of 1000's of irrelevant items, or items which are what you want but are located mainly in United States with super expensive postage costs !

I do not understand WHY the eBay site of the UK is so OVER FOCUSED ON USA ?... when this site is supposed to be for the UK ???...

When searching eBay for items - Most people want to see LOCAL items which are located in their OWN COUNTRY with reasonable postage costs and quick delivery... not items located thousands of miles away in USA  for $20 USA dolars and $680 USA dolars just to get it home, plus god knows what VAT and Custom charges once it arrives in the country...

As a seller on eBay since 2007, The sales of eBay lately have become INFREQUENT and pretty much DEAD !... so much now that I am forced to give up selling on eBay as my once regular sales have now completely stopped to almost nothing since eBay introduced their "Item Specifics" and "Promoted Listings"...

Also the very high selling fees and 24 hour delay from when a buyer pays to when the money is available at my bank is not really ideal anymore... especially when we had and were used to INSTANT PAYMENTS (which PayPal so kindly provided) which were very convenient  if someone was in trouble and needed to sell something fast in order to raise the money the same day to pay off a bill or buy some food.

Now with eBay's "Managed Payments" it's like going back to the 1980's with everything now processing so slowly... which is such a great shame when 5 or 15 years ago we had the luxury and convenience of INSTANT PAYMENT within 10 seconds after your item has sold and your buyer has made their payment via PayPal.

Sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone at eBay... I'm just speaking my mind here and feel that eBay have now ruined what was a fantastic and effective online selling pIateform with so many unnecessary and not very well thought out changes in such a short space of time.
