simple delivery

It's a communist act by eBay.

Losing funds under the "free to sell" banner to compete with other selling platforms; has sparked new initiatives in-order to recoup losses.

You, as a seller are 'the product'; as well as 'the product' itself.

eBay are controlling what you can do with 'your' property.

Who you can send it with; so that the funds will trickle-back to eBay.

They are systematically restricting the movement of 'your' goods.

If they move, at all; that is. There's currently an issue with size, weight, etc.; Despite entering item specifics to indicate size and weight.

Currently charging you more to purchase postage under this new scheme, (than it does if you pay for the postage 'directly' with the logistics company yourself) is merely one example of revenue income for eBay.

But new seller may not even know 'which' service has been 'opted-for and pre-paid-for'; (only the limited carriers) until the item actually sells.

If there's damaged caused to an item whilst in-transit; I'll claim that from the courier themselves.

I wouldn't sell a one-off item, if I have no control over how it's sent.

The eBay selling system worked fine for decades, but it's only now (once the '"free-to-sell" initiative started) that there is suddenly a 'compulsion' for eBay to control and restrict the most needed element of selling online, worldwide.

It's too 'claw-back' funds; however communistic eBay have-to be just-to compete.

Simple-Delivery can still exist for those who really want to be bound by these terms and conditions; but there needs-to be the re-inclusion of 'custom-postage' for those that it doesn't work-for.

Otherwise, sellers need-to stop selling in large-enough numbers for eBay to "get the message".

Without the sellers, there are no buyers.

We, as people, are the product; and without us, eBay doesn't exist.

Without us, there are no 'physical' products to trade.

You have-to help, not hinder both buyers and sellers to be successful.

It worked well for many decades; and sometimes it requires a substantial amount of people to reduce the amount of items listed, or stop selling (temporarily) to not let a faceless company 'control and dictate' exactly what you do with 'your' (sometimes sacred) property, just so that eBay can get the books balanced back to how they once were.

But 'gambling' on initiatives such as this; usually just adds to those losses.

There needs-to be an intervention; because after multiple attempts to arrange a resolution; eBay are forthright in continuing down this path, at the discomfort, stress and total disrespect for both buyers and sellers.

I am partially-blind, so, forgive the mistakes; but not the 'gist' of the content.

Why would you define it as such, out of curiosity?

I mean, what have the new eBay changes got to do with Communism, exactly?

Re: simple delivery

Restriction of movement; against your preferred wishes.

At the control of one overwhelmingly defiant and unwavering force.

To name; but two.

How are eBay preventing you from moving?

How are you under the control of "one overwhelmingly defiant and unwavering force."?

I think that you may be misunderstanding what Communism actually is and possibly watching too many Black Mirror episodes.

Re: simple delivery

In this instance, someone is instructing you how you sell and move your own property; in-order to profit from an inflated postal cost.

They don't inform you as to the 'actual service used' until the item sells.

The system doesn't work to allow you to change certain parameters; but you will be in the wrong if the item is not delivered.

Certain oversized items cannot be listed, because of the restricted parameters, or you need-to change the listing to a 'collection-only' listing, in-order to try and sell items; but that comes with added issues.

I have a perfect understanding of communism, and I've never viewed any episode of the aforementioned.

They are controlling this element of the sales process for their own financial gain, irrespective of the disruption to both the seller and consumer.

I  am partially-blind, and I only wrote this after a raft of unwavering correspondence with eBay, where I am merely explaining the situation for 'private' sellers, and not seeking a conversation to explain what is so obvious to so many people.

It is almost completely controlling; but you it seems are fine with this arrangement; so, move-on.

Re: simple delivery

if it was true communism you would not have a choice but to use e bay!  You do have that choice, you can leave (as i will be doing as soon as i cannot sent with my own postage) or you can stay and accept their terms.  There are other sites out there - i may not like it and i will continue to 'rant' about it (whether some business sellers like it or not)  but i would not call it communism.

Google is your friend here.

Google 'communism'.

Seriously, for anyone that has relatives or for anyone that actually is living or has lived under Communism this is ridiculously trite. You're in the UK, not North Korea, you have the choice to use eBay or not to use it. It's only a selling platform.

Re: simple delivery

I've got little time left on this planet to sell the entirety of what I own. I used eBay for 20-years before stopping 4-years ago, when the payment methods changed; and when you struggle-to see, it's hard-to 'start afresh' to learn something new (and not make a mistake) and do anything other-than what you 'already' know how to use amid poor-vision.

I don't have a smart-phone,  or use typical social-media sites, such as Facebook. (This is it; or as close as it gets.) So, I don't have 'much' of an option-to see, learn and use much else; which is otherwise fine, if it weren't for this compulsive intervention to inform me that we're going-to make things more difficult for you, with our simple-delivery initiative.

If you read my piece carefully, I offered a solution by which eBay could re-introduce 'custom-postage' for those who cannot use the simple-delivery method; or for when it invariably doesn't work properly.

Telling me that I have no-option to change those factors, when I know that they're wrong; needs correcting, but eBay won't.

When you're running-out of time, and you just want-to sell the last of your wares, (so that nobody else has-to) becomes extremely difficult when you can barely see, and when a company such as eBay (which never imposed this type of action prior-to the "free to sell" initiative) has found it necessary to recoup the down-turn in income revenue, merely to keep it competitive against those who already let buyers/sellers sell for free.

It's already difficult to sell, I don't need another obstacle put in-front of me; that I can barely see is there. And I even offered a solution, too; which would eliminate the need for thousands of comments that this initiative has duly sparked.

Simple-delivery for me doesn't work. I'm restricted in what I can sell, or how I sell-it. I may not be able-to sell elsewhere, or I may not have the viewing audience. Everything tends-to work fine on eBay; but simple-delivery does not. eBay are being controlling to the point that will stop sellers selling, and I cannot see me selling elsewhere.

I've said enough.
