I've not heard of anyone currently able to combine SD orders.
My best understanding is (given that different users report seeing different things, and it appears ebay have been making some changes to how this works).
If the buyer pays for multiple items in one transaction, you may get one label, you may get more than one.
If the buyer pays for multiple items in multiple transactions, you will get multiple labels.
I believe it's ok to put multiple items/orders into a single box, as long as they meet all criteria for SD e.g. under £750 total and maximum box size/weight. Potentially putting multiple items into a single box might mean a bigger/heavier box than the postage label "expected". In my view that's really ebay's issue to solve/possibly their agreement with RM/Evri already takes care of it.
If the buyer paid for postage on the unused labels, they will get a refund automatically after 30 days. If the seller paid for postage on the unused labels, they need to request a refund.
Some people report they can change tracking numbers of SD orders, some people say they can't. Without tracking (including without the correct tracking number) the payment should clear (subject to other restrictions) after about 14-21 days (I believe it's 14 days from .... event) but can't quickly find which event!
Just a quick point on "advised me to buy lots of labels" - you shouldn't need to literally buy (or arrange) any postage after the sale - you just print the Simple Delivery label provided.
