is this a scam

I just received the below  message but i am not sure its from ebay. The message looks to come from user gfdgfdalv_33 not from eBay. I tried the eBay chat to confirm the message but that did not work . any one else got this message?

looks like it wants to verify my bank data  not going to do that unless i am sure.

Don't know but sounds very suspicious. Usually you cannot sell until details are verified anyway if that's what Ebay want. If it has come from a user do not give any details. Look this use up press on his name to see where he is

Top right of that message is a 3 dot menu, click on that to report it (see image below):

It's a scam. I got a similar message last week informing me that an item had been sold even though the auction did not finish until 2 days later.

The easy tell is that they start with your username.

If it was Ebay they would use your actual name.
