below standard

I am over 2% below standard and been told to resolve the matter

I seem to have a 0% clearance rate, yet all the buyers had a 100% refund and some have taken BIN items from me as repeat buyers.  I have audited my inventory and am now absolutely satisfied I can meet any purchase.

The maths are such that the handful of 'out of stock' failed deals will sit there for several months and so the % failure will not change.

I am anxious that my ability to list will be curtailed

Any advice as to what to do next?

I have been using ebay for 20+ years

Why are your items out-of-stock? This would raise a red flag at eBay HQ.

Cancelling orders as out of stock gives you a dangerous defect for each cancellation, which is a shame as it's the most avoidable reason for cancelling an order.

All you can do is to list and sell as many items as you can as quickly as you can in order to dilute it, and keep an eye on your Seller Dashboard:

Many thanks

I had a chance to sell a great bundle of items via a different site and was not quick enough to delete them from ebay.  Couple of other reasons, in one case I sold 5 items to the same person so refunded the full amount on the fifth as postage recompense (ie rather than a few penies on all five) and recklessly clicked 'out of stock'.

I cannot deny the failings but all got their money back within 24 hours and several gave me repeat business so I cannot understand why I have a 0% clearance rate.

Many thanks

All my listings are single items and my turnover is seven or eight salesa month.  Unfortunately the errors came in a very short period and are likely to be in the window reviewed for this purpose for some time.

It is resolving the 'clearance' issue which I imagined would have an impact on the 'standard' measurement they use to work out whether sellers are 'Below Standard'

Once your eBay account has some defects, all you can do to reduce the defect % is to sell more items so the % drops, and/or wait until the defects are old enough that they fall outside the review window.

If you've made some unintentional mistakes, admitted it to yourself, made amends and made changes to do better in future then there is little else you can do. eBay won't be interested in hearing from you individually.

I would just like to comment on where you say sell more items to get out of being below standard hold on a minute dont ebay restrict the visibility of ebay listings when an account is below standard yes they do so how do you sell more items you cant I am currently below standard myself only because three lovely ebay buyers lied to return items they had purchased by mistake as in not read the full description and even checked a part number because they are bone idle lazy and then lied through their back teeth to ebay to return them at my cost and only because I didnt roll over like a soft dog and pander to their whims and lies I now have to pay the price also ebay have very nicely charged me an extra 6% on any possible sales so my total fees with everything included are now 20%  so in theory theres no way out of being below standard my sales are now 85% down !!

I am sorry to hear of your ebay experience.    I am not a business but sell small value items at about 10 a month.  The bulk of my failures (4, out of stock) were in April 2024 and I now guess that come this coming April they will fall out of the reckoning and I will be back with a spotless record.
