Simple delivery - bring a label

Hello

There's loads of posts going on which go off topic for various reasons. So I'd just to ask...

When using the eBay app on an android device, and you go through the steps as per this screenshot, does it work and does a royal mail postie consistently bring a label when they come to collect?

Thanks

Simple delivery - bring a label

Hi

[this post has no bearing on the android aspect of the software]

I've sold 51 items in 1 month on Ebay. All RM posts (46 packages) were collections from home with postie expected to bring labels. Just one was DHL collection that concluded 100% satisfactorily. 4 packages were taken to an Evri parcelstore, all were delivered 8-14 days later, but I'm certain one would have been a lost package case except for a very enterprising tenacious buyer in Ireland.

Royal Mail do not do anything consistently! They give you a 4 hour (no guarantee of time) slot that they would collect in. I estimate I've had 16 collections booked. They did not come: 1 time they apologised, 2 other occasions they lied about coming to collect c. 1-3 hours after the time slot expiry and finding no one at home.Tracking only shows that they failed to collect at this time as no one at home!

They have brought labels for c.90% of the packages. They don't like to wait for you to stick them on. You want them to scan each parcel as that is the only proof that they have your parcel. Postie will scan them voluntarily on most days, they might say they will scan in the van or as it happened one time, the postie yanked the package from my hand and walked off in a huff lol!

First week of posting brought 2 cases of theft: one most definitely and the other on balance of probability the packages were got at by RM workers. I immediately tightened up on the packaging procedure so that my jiffy bags were reinforced to a state resembling a brick and then inserting it into an opaque grey waterproof tamper proof polythene bag. First one I refunded voluntarily and the second Ebay paid after a long fight.

The last 10 days have brought 3 cases of package gone missing - too difficult to break into on the spot I suppose! All these 3 cases Ebay has only informed me that they are taking care of the case and all 3 were refunded by Ebay.

I'm now beginning to think that the posting labels are partly to blame for the thefts - at the base of the lable the words 'MARKETPLACE SELLER' is giving an indication that there is something on value in the package.

Cheers

Simple delivery - bring a label

Thanks for the details.

When you booked the collection, how where you able to get RM to bring a label please? Did you follow the steps in the screenshot above?

Did you do it in the app or on a laptop/desktop?

Thanks.

Simple delivery - bring a label

For anything apart from small texts on the phone, I use the PC.

After a sale and payment have taken place, Ebay email me with a label (pdf) attachment . In the body of that email, there is a link to 'Download label'. During this (for RM only) you get a chance to book the collection (which I think defaults to 'bring a label') and also afterwards to print the packing slip/invoice and label to your own printer.

I cannot be more precise as I suspended selling whilst my case was on going, over 12 days ago. Of my previous Ebay emails, the labels have now expired so they lack that functionality - so I cannot repeat & document properly.

I've looked at the screen capture and all of that wording is familiar. I would say that the place you're looking for should be one of the hyperlinks in 3./5./6.

I'll know for sure in 3/4 days time when the next sales will arrive but in the meantime that's all I have.

Cheers
