Simple Delivery

Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

Re: Simple Delivery

I did. They said they assumed I had selected evri. From their response, I dont think they understood simple delivery.

Re: Simple Delivery

I'm in the process of listing an item using simple delivery - having turned off evri in simple delivery settings. And a bit annoyed that if only royal mail selected it is £2.74 for large letter when it should be £2.60 then I saw your post. This is outrageous, the first time I've seen the chart (saw the basic chart and realised some prices are more than royal mail charge).
I cannot offer Evri, I am not getting someone to drive me 8 miles to drop off - all I can do is pay the extra for collection
AND royal mail tracked goes up to £150 so good sold between £100 and £150 are paying additional costs for no additional gain.

Re: Simple Delivery

It is appalling that a buyer will get penalised for the sellers choices. This is only good for ebay who will pocket the difference.

Re: Simple Delivery

And then when Evri chuck the parcel into the nearest river it'll be the seller getting penalised for Ebays choices!

Re: Simple Delivery

on a desktop I can - but think that will stop on 7th or 15th. some people can change it on app. I've changed my preferences so I won;t offer evri - 16 miles round trip to  drop off, but as wintersdawn1 posted if you don't offer both royal mail and evri your customer has to pay more...

Re: Simple Delivery

Thanks, but too complicated for me, have a number of items which are second large letter @ £1.55. Just tried this Simple Delivery and offered at "from £2.70". If "from" who chooses what? If buyer wants a different more expensive option do they pay or do I just lose it? Have read the explanation note etc. Why add a minimum £1.15 cost to a prospective buyer? Any suggestion as to how to actually reach e-bay?

I also have bespoke items, eg pre-war Lucas P100 headlight or Rocker Cover Bentley 1949. How the hell do e-bay's AI cmputers decifde what size and weight each of those would be? Pi888d off with it all.

Re: Simple Delivery

& further to that, eBay can override your choice and still use Evri anyway.

They released the new terms and conditions with that option. It's written, black and white.

Re: Simple Delivery

Interrested to find out what they mean by "There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced". They haven't mentioned what low-priced is as far as I can see.

Re: Simple Delivery

They probably havent decided what low cost means. eBay would have to have their *bleep* together for that.

Re: Simple Delivery

Transparency isn't ebay's business model. If nothing is clear they can make any old bs up whenever they want to.

Re: Simple Delivery

A £3.39 tracked 48 royal mail will cost a buyer £3.71 if the seller is signed up to both Evri & Royal Mail or a whopping £4.27 if the seller can ONLY use Royal Mail - people like me and many others who are rural.

PS I've still not found that chart via eBay - but having just done a listing I know it's correct!

Re: Simple Delivery

I think the most baffling thing is why is the price climbing if you switch off Evri? It already shouldn't be more expensive than it is but to have a preference costs you extra? Is it a glitch?

Re: Simple Delivery

On the new system there’s no option for small parcel

its “up to “ medium parcel dimensions - you just chose the weight

Not sure why because royal mails prices are different for the two sizes so HOW a on earth are eBay supposed to know what size parcel you’re sending in order to price it

royal mails pricing is going up on the 7th April , same day as eBay is going to start amending people’s existing listings with their new system

I’ll wait until then to see what happens because at the moment ,DUE to non transparency by eBay it’s hard to figure out all their pricing in detail..dribs and drabs of info here, there and everywhere

it will be a hoot!

and there’s always a way around things but it will be more messing around just to get what we originally had
