At the moment..I sell a postcard for .99 pence put it in a small envelope…and by buyer pays .65 pence second class.
Ebay are loosing it big time..and judging by forums etc.a lot of supporters!

I believe that your postcards may be exempt if their packaged weight is less than 100g and the sold price less than £10.
Waiting for confirmation on that though.

Like you I am in the same boat, 99% of all the items I sell fit into a standard letter up to 100g and Royal Mail from the 7th will charge £1.70p for this service. I want to know why a buyer will want to pay £2.70p under SD to get their item.
So far eBay have NOT stipulated what is considered low weight items or in what categories. Don't hold your breath for an update before the 15th. I think eBay want everyone to quickly get used to the extortionate SD charges (min weight 750g) or stop selling and leave.

They said items that are 100g or less, plus fit in an envelope plus are priced at 10£ or under
youll be able to chose custom postage for these as well as items that are bigger than their max dimensions, or heavier than their max
plus items over 750£ so you can use special delivery
plus some restricted items
we will not really know until we can experiment after the 15th
ps this screenshot is not technically correct either because you can opt out for other items that are more than 100g etc etc

Ebay had their chance to make things better for genuine private sellers and have now blown it!
Just noticed that V**ted have a category for coins and medals, so it's bye bye Ebay!
Now think about this for a second ok people....
I have been a private seller on Ebay for over 25 years!
And if I'm leaving the Ebay platform goodness knows how many hundreds of thousands of other private sellers like me are also leaving!
It's simple really....you make it difficult to sell we leave for a different platform.
And WHEN Ebay executives finally come to their senses and realise that their latest 'innovations' have driven over 25% of their sellers to rival platforms, then two things will possibly happen........
1. Ebay buys out V**ted
2. Ebay finally realises that's it's USP was their original online auction house model, NOT trying to be Amazon or V**ted, and they will finally revert back to something simple and easy to use with transparent fees.
For now though it's Adios Ebay!
I'm off to V**ted !!
