The buyer has asked to cancel the order after a delayed delivery (I've been in hospital for my foot). I bought a simple delivery label. Am I eligible for a refund? The label is obviously unused and hasn't even been printed but has sadly been paid for, as I thought I would have been able to dispatch quicker, but that's not the case.

When you cancelled the order the refund for the Simple Delivery postage label should take place automatically to whoever paid for it.
If not you'd have to contact ebay. The cancellation link we have only refunds if item was sent and then only if by trackable postage.
You can request a callback on here:

- If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling. Also ensure you add the replacement tracking number of the service used, and it shows delivery.
That request form requires an alternative tracking number to be provided that shows a delivery scan; something the OP will not be able to provide.

If I select 'buyer pays'? That's some extremely dumb terms of service. Regardless of who bought it, it was needed to provide a service? Feels like a total scam, honestly. I'll start adding totals on the order and offer free postage. Thanks for the reply. 🙂

If the order was cancelled you should still receive a refund for the label. This means you would have selected a reason for cancelling the order (such as "Buyer asked to cancel"). Is that what happened; i.e. the buyer did not open a case?
