Since the recent changes, my sales have become increasingly difficult.
I'm a private seller, but rely on eBay to buy items and sell them.
Mine is a niche market admittedly. Tarot and Oracle Cards.
Since the changes have been introduced, buyers are expecting you to reduce your price down enough to void the buyers protection. They're also unwilling to barter a price, not like they used to. The withholding of money is slowing down my OWN purchase rate.
Buyer protection is a unneeded additional cost as eBay always uses a guaranteed refund policy if things don't go accordingly.
So, it's a money grab that is harming the success of sellers and eBay itself.
I go on etsy and see people paying fortunes for tarot and oracle cards. I get that it is a different selling model but still the changes to eBay is hitting hard. People seem to have all the money in the world on etsy.
Yet, eBay buyers do not seem to have 2 pennies to rub together!!
It seems like something one would do to ruin your trade, but grab as much money before your ship sinks.
What they doing with these extra fees?
I'd rather pay a seller's fee than ask the buyer to pay the fee, because lost profit like this is worse than the old sellers fees.
Etsy is notoriously hard to get your shop noticed, and my items aren't self-made. EBay does have a good shop 'front' but has driven all the buyers away!
Is there no chance of reconsidering this? It's killing their own company!
