Second chance offers

I have cancelled an order due to non payment.  I have followed eBay instructions  on sending a second chance offer, which is cancel the order ( done this ) find the item in the sellers hub, go to "other actions" and select "second chance offer "

I can't  find this option. Can anyone help ( the virtual assistant couldn't! ) Thanks

Second chance offers

Click on the original listing on your orders page, then click on where it says the number of bids and you'll see a SCO link there next to the bidder's ID.

Second chance offers

I assume this was an auction? Open up the original listing. Click on the bids, this should open a page that offers second chance offers to be made.

Hi bkee54, thanks for your post.

The 2nd chance offer should be there for you, are you still not seeing this? If you're not, please let me know the item number, and I can take a further look for you no problem.

Thank you,

Marco

This from eBay's help pages:

You need to finalise the non payment case first. After 4 days pass cancel the order citing buyer has not paid.

Then you can send a second chance offer here:

1. Find your listing in either My eBay Selling Activity or Seller Hub.

2. Select Second Chance Offer from More actions, and then Continue.

3. Select the quantity of items you have to sell, the duration of the offer, and the bidders you want to send offers to. Then select Continue.

eBay will send the bidders you selected an email, and it's their choice whether to accept the offer. Your offer expires if the bidder doesn't respond within the duration you chose.

Be aware not all members wish to be notified and may have this option blocked in their preferences.

Actually, in my experience, you don't even need to finalise the non payment case first! I recently sold an item at auction and it only received two bids. The winning bidder paid and the item has been shipped. But using my route described above (going into bids on the original listing) I can make a second chance offer to the second bidder.

Aaah you see,  another ' help' page then not updated!  😐

Always a better learning day at school here,  from other member's , than trying to read eBay's ' help pages' 🙄

I do note that there is a communications setting to say you do not want to receive second chance offers. How many other bidders were there? If only one other it could be that they could have the "receive second chance offers" box un-ticked?  (I have just discovered both my accounts have it un-ticked, so It may be un-ticked by default.)

(Account settings > account preferences > communication preferences > buying activity )

Thanks for your reply, bkee54.

I am seeing the second change offer there, maybe you're checking in a different part of your account? But just to be safe, try clearing the canches and cookies of your browser or try using a different browser, and then go to your seller hub, and find the order in question, then please click on the title of the listing, and that should take you to a different page where you will be able to see the below.

Hope this helps,
