Royal mail tracking not updated in ebay

I posted 4 Royal Mail tracked 48 parcels on Monday, Ebay shows no tracking activity on the sold items but if I check on the Royal Mail "Track your item" page all show that they are in transit showing up to date details.  Has the link between Royal Mail Tracking and Ebay failed?

Looks like the link is broken again. I have six items that Ebay are showing as dispatched, because I have entered the tracking number, the Royal Mail website shows them all as delivered yesterday. Yet another Ebay glitch I suppose.

I had the same thing but the funds were available to pay out so ??

It was just a bit disconcerting .... so I sent a screen grab of the POD to the purchaser just-in-case and he confirmed safe receipt.

I noticed same problem this morning for all items I posted on Monday with RM tracked service, all items had their original tracking data removed & are not updating , see more in my thread:

The link between Ebay & Royal Mail appears to be broken all day today.

Have been getting the same problem with Royal Mail for weeks/months (and that's just RM)...type in the tracking number and get "tracking will be available when we attempt to deliver"..well some of these items have been delivered and the same message appears.

These new changes coming in next month are going to be a nightmare for all involved.

Good luck with sorting it all out ebay.

That is a completely different problem then the one reported here.

Here, the tracking shows correctly on Royal Mail website but no corresponding tracking data appears on ebay as it should, the link is broken.

In my case the RM48 tracked items posted on Monday the 13th all show "Delivered today" on Royal Mail site but on ebay there is no tracking of any kind shown , except ebay's message "running behind".

The original tracking data have all disappeared from ebay site for all the items in the past 1-2 days,  it only shows on RM.

Have had this issue for over a year, most of my parcels do not have accurate and up to date tracking on ebay but require me to check on the RM tracking website for the actual details.

I think whatever API they're using to grab the tracking from RM fails quite often and it is frequently days behind.

Yes, the link between ebay & RM have caused problems in the past but I never noticed this type of glitch before, were the original tracking data that was already there for 1-2 days would simply vanish from eBay. 

Otherwise I would not bother mentioning it, but this time is different.

Good that the tracking number wasn't wiped out as well & it's still in the Order Details - so one can click on that link to go to RM site directly, but some buyer are not aware you can do that & just look into ebay tracking alone to get updates.

If the original tracking data is now gone then the automated eBay's system judges you that you "failed to post on time" and/or failed to "deliver on time"  & you'll get the " running behind" message & then get late delivery penalties.

The hassle to have to phone CS to remove it, trying to prove it's eBay's glitch, time wasted, etc.etc

I think it's worse for private sellers as they cannot get their money payouts if there is no proof of tracked delivery which there wont be if the link between RM & ebays tracking is broken.

Strange because I use RM for everything and this is the first time I can remember it happening.

Not trying to say you're wrong, just that the issue is not across the board.

I always send the buyer photographs, of the packed item with the eBay printed postage label, clearly showing the tracking number. I am now asking each buyer to provide feedback once delivered and their happy. To ensure funds will be released asap after receipt. Not much else can be done I feel.

Where does this leave me as a private seller in respect to getting my payout for a sold item that has been delivered today but is not showing as delivered on eBay even though Royal Mail tracking confirms it has been? I can see this turning into a real mess with it being seen as a late delivery.

We have the same problem; Royal Mail stated delivery today and yesterday for hundreds of our parcels; however, ebay has not accepted this; all we have is that it was shipped; no update on ebay. I have spoken to ebay concierge with little to no help.

Parcels were all dispatched on Monday, 15th January 2024; Royal Mail tracked 48 hours, and tracking was uploaded on dispatch. Well, over 500 parcels were delivered with photo proof, according to the Royal Mail site, and the eBay system only states that they were dispatched.

Same here, items not showing delivered, but the buyer has left positive feedback and the Royal Mail site says delivered. That does not bode well when ebay will be holding our funds until the the item says delivered.....

All 4 of my parcels have now been delivered according to royal Mail, if I click on Ebay tracking no tracking is shown however if I click on Order Details it is now showing the parcels have been dispatched!  An improvement but there is obviously something wrong with the system.

Except that Evri fail to deliver to me every time (they are as bad as Herpes ever were)  ... and when I mention this problem to others asking for any other delivery company to be used, they generally agree with me. I wonder why ?

I have just spent 20 mins to the ebay online chat and I think convinced that this is an ebay technical fault that needs to be resolved at their end. They could see the problem with my orders and claim to have reported it to their technical team who they say are working on it. They also claim that I will not be penalised for apparently not meeting the dispatch and delivery times. 

Please don't post on this thread if you have a completly different problem but make a new post detailing your problem - this is important otherwise Ebay will simply miss your issue.
