Hi
Anyone having trouble with Royal Mail tracking via Ebay -as one item I sold says running late, in fact it was delivered on Monday (Royal Mail Website) and another delivered on Monday with no updates at all on Ebay Obviously do not want late defects and also would like to be paid.

All the time to be honest ,and it is going to have an impact on this wonderful new buyer protection that has been rolled out ,nearly 50% of delivered items are not scanned by RM on my sales .

I shipped 3 sold items on Monday. First went 48 Tracked and is showing a status of Shipped. The other two went 2nd class large letter, one is showing as Delivered (yay!) and saying I'll get funds available in 2 days. The other one is confusing, it's marked Dispatched, says Tracking Number Provided, but there's no indication on the tracking that it's even hit the post office (though with an EDD from eBay of today or tomorrow!) So no confusion there at all...
I am finding I dislike waiting for my funds to clear FAR more than I expected to. It feels like an imposition and I don't like it, even though I don't have any special plans for the money 😞

Quite often in my experience. For quite a few reasons. Especially at busy times like Christmas/New Year. It's got a lot worse over the last few years. I find the actual eBay tracking often is useless and it doesn't work & just says it's stuck on 'posted', or on another part of the delivery process, but if I add the tracking in to the actual RM website I'll find that it's been delivered as their tracking seems to work better their & there's the photo showing it delivered. This seems to be the thing that happens the most, it's just from eBays perspective it doesn't show up as delivered their end. Which is now what counts! But then on the other hand, the postal workers don't bother scanning anything in sometimes when it's been delivered so no one has any tracking info at all. Then I will keep an eye on things & sometimes the buyer sends feedback so I know that they have it, but as most buyers don't bother with feedback I'll end up contacting them myself to find out that it's been delivered! This along with SD has made me end my listings for the time being as it's just too much hassle, especially for me with the SD which I know hasn't been made mandatory yet but it is going to be. But you cannot rely on RM to scan your items in when they're delivered so this means we'll all be waiting for 2 weeks to get any of our money.

I'd say about 40% of items I've sent to the UK Global Shipping Programme centre aren't even scanned as delivered by Royal Mail. I posted an item Tracked 24 on Monday to that centre and it's still showing up on Royal Mail's website as en route, so I have no idea as to whether it's been delivered or not, as often I'm unaware that GPS have received it until they start processing items for international delivery - so there are even more variables than the OP's situation, which even more highlights how flawed eBay's policy re releasing funds is.

Agree with all of the above Ebay should have a look at your post it sums it up perfectly ,when the aptly name simple delivery kicks in ,buyers will have the option of choosing useless companies such as Hermes or whatever name they go by currently ,I use RM because I am in a village if I am forced to use Nevri I will have to drive an hour`s round trip also taking business away from my local Post Office ,another nail securely hammered in .I am selling my whole collection to a dealer now E bay is dead well done shareholders .

This is going to be a big problem for private sellers on ebay if these new rules aren't changed. The system worked perfectly before. Royal Mail often don't scan at some point in the process and meanwhile we're penalised as private sellers even though we've done our bit and posted out items in good time. It feels like all sellers are being treated as potentially untrustworthy when all buyers are perfect, which is very far from the truth. It's way too open to abuse by buyers who can easily check tracking and see that it's not been scanned even though they have received their order.

I have also posted an item last Saturday 8th February. The goods arrived, and I asked the buyer to leave feedback. I have spoken twice yesterday to email. The first in Germany had no item, and I told him that the item was never scanned, this was sent by 2nd class signed for. I was told by this guy I have to wait for 40 days, in fact its 30 days according to the 2nd woman at ebay.
I was told that feedback is meaningless does not prove they have the goods. So they are keeping our money its not their money, and I believe this is fraudulent.
I had delivered a parcel on Tuesday, the guy left me feedback, but as I dont have a tracking number that parcel may or not ever be paid out, I have a picture of the person holding the parcel and a picture of their home but thats not proof according to ebay, and they wont tell me when I will be paid or not.
The guy in Germany was so off, he put the phone down on me. He had no clue about living in the UK or when parcels are not scanned.

One of my parcels never scanned from Last Saturday 8th February. Then ebay told me leaving feedback from the buyer is meaningless and does not provide the proof they have the item.
Another I hand delivered, and I dont know if I will be paid for that one as I did not have a tracking number. Therefore, if you are left feedback and the parcel did not scan I have been told initially I would have to wait for 40 days by an guy in Germany had not idea and put the phone down on me.
I have been now told I will have to wait for 30 days, and I may never get paid. This is a scam and the money is not ebays.
So the buyers have the goods and I have no money for this. I have paid out for postage and in many instances I have paid more than I asked, and some of the buyers will not reply back to me, when I have asked have you this item. The worse is to come.

Hi
Even when the buyer has thanked us for swift delivery on feedback - proof on eBay's own system that the goods have been delivered, if the RM system does not show this, then they will not release the funds - how is this looking after the interest of their sellers?
When queried I was told to complain to Royal Mail - yet eBay had proof that the goods had been delivered.
Are they trying to deter private sellers?

I used to. I stopped using them precisely because of this.
On the sporadic occasions I've used them since, they still hadn't improved.
It's always been useless. The system is barely updated. Whenever I've looked at the tracking online its imparted no useful information about a parcel's progress. Even after it's been delivered and I've had feedback, the online tracking status hasn't changed. More than once it never reported delivery.
I think that's why eBay's simple posting system favours Royal Mail now. Its rubbish tracking enables eBay to hang onto private sellers' money for longer and thereby accrue interest on our sales.
