I had two similar items for auction and one has paid, one hasn’t. I accidentally reviewed the buyer that hasn’t paid, not that big an issue, but why does eBay encourage reviews with leave feedback if the item has not yet been paid for? Also why doesn’t eBay allow me to remove it and put it on again when the buyer has paid? As I wrote ‘prompt payment’ in my feedback and the buyer may think they’ve got away with not paying and may think they will get the item without payment. Obviously they won’t, but the optics do not look good considering it was a mistake.

You have just demonstrated the reason why ebay never used to take feedback into consideration for use as 'proof' of anything!
It is actually far easier to leave it by mistake than most people would assume....

I only leave feedback for a buyer after they have left it for me. I would never leave it just because they have paid. I take no notice of Ebays reminders to leave feedback, it is, and always has been, voluntary, so you should not feel under any obligation to do so.

Hi trace-ken, thanks for your post.
If the buyer hasn't paid, I don't think you should be able to leave feedback as the transaction technically speaking is not completed until it is fully paid for. If you confirm the item number, I can take a look for you no problem.
Thank you,
Marco

Thanks for your reply, trace-ken.
Yes, so if you confirm the item number, I can take a look for you no problem to see what's happening there. 👍
Thank you,
Marco
