Hi, Has the option to use Paypal to purchase RM labels been removed or has one of my settings mysteriously changed, I was using Paypal on Monday, today it's coming out of my funds.

Re: Paypal for Custom Delivery

I assumed you could use PayPal for purchasing any custom postage labels - but having had a quick look at the 'Postage for sellers' help page, it only mentions using 'available funds' for Evri, Yodel etc, whereas for Royal Mail it mentions PayPal and available funds:-

Paying for your labels

Depending on which carrier you choose, the cost of your labels can be paid from your available funds, PayPal or your on-file payment method.

  • Royal Mail postage label purchases can be paid with PayPal and can now also be paid using any available funds on your eBay account
  • For Packlink carriers EVRi, Yodel, UPS, InPost and DPD you can purchase labels using any available funds on your eBay account
  • If you choose to pay using available funds and don’t have sufficient balance to cover the transaction, label purchases will be paid from your preferred on-file payment method
  • All Parcelforce postage label purchases will be paid with PayPal

Re: Paypal for Custom Delivery

Hi everyone

I raised this issue at the Weekly chat and I hope they are looking into it, but i wondered if I am the only one this is happening to. I changed my Payment settings to take payments off my Credit card as there is no option for Paypal  (for me) and I don't like it coming from my funds. Tonight however, it has taken payments from my funds again, albeit I don't have any so I'm not sure where it has been taken from yet.

Re: Paypal for Custom Delivery

Is it taking postage payments from your funds regardless of what carrier you are using? It seems a bit odd that PayPal is only mentioned for Royal Mail & Parcelforce labels, so I'm wondering if PayPal can't be used for Evri etc.

Re: Paypal for Custom Delivery

Hi, it has always taken from my funds for Yodel and from PayPal for RM. In the grand scheme of things it is not a big issue, but I would prefer if it always used something other than my funds. I think it is using unreleased funds ATM.

Re: Paypal for Custom Delivery

@suelel1968 I'm having the same issue with not being able to use PayPal to pay for Royal Mail labels. The ebay Help pages are useless, it just mentions that you can use PayPal but doesn't say how, and the option is not available when you process the payments. I hope they sort this out,  but I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Paypal for Custom Delivery

Hi @paul*tribesandvibes* thanks for letting me know. Thing is that they change things and don't tell us or things change randomly and they don't even know. As you say the help pages don't match the reality.

It will be annoying if PayPal isn't going to be available for RM postage, but perhaps this is a glitch, or the option has just been 'hidden away' somewhere? eBay are very keen for available funds to be used... you have to toggle off the 'use funds' option every time at the checkout, when making any purchase.

And it makes things confusing if they are taking postage money from unreleased funds. When you pay with PayPal, it's all nice & separate from eBay...

Re: Paypal for Custom Delivery

Paypal is back!

When you buy a custom RM label, at the bottom of the page is an option to select Paypal for payment and to select it as primary payment method going forward. Oddly the first label purchase did not come out of Paypal, but subsequent labels have and the option is preselected.
