Packlink Recharing after Parcel was delivered

I got a shock today when Packlink charged me £3.18 extra for a parcel they said was overweight and too large for the postage I paid for it.  The item in question was Revells 1/500 Star Trek Enterprise Plastic Model Kit.

There is no way that the kit weighed even close to 1.5kg let alone 15kg and I checked the dimensions and the parcel was well within the required size for the price I paid.

The rub is in order to prove that the parcel is with the limits I need to send them Photos with the parcel on a scale showing its weight and other photos showing the precise height and width of the parcel, the problem being that the parcel has been delivered and the packaging has already been recycled.

So a warning to everybody using Packlink make sure you have photographic proof that your parcel is what you say it is or you with get charged extra because without photos they don't have to pay you back for anything or never use them again

Re: Packlink Recharing after Parcel was delivered

from what i have read on these threads they will not be using packlink when it comes in properly.  By the way i will have a choice and that is to leave, which is what i will be doing.  I will wait for payment, suffer the BPF increase but i will not do SD.

What does SD stand for?

If I have to use Packlink, I will leave Ebay and try something else.

Thanks

Simple Delivery

But it's a truly terrible idea and they are already having to rollback in areas.

Re: Packlink Recharing after Parcel was delivered

Always mark the highest value allowed onto the package (ie if its up to 1kg put 1kg on the package, even if its only 100g). Cuz if they weigh it and its 101g, even if uve paid for up to 1kg...packlink will charge u.

Yeh, I've had two parcels described as overweight also. The 1st one I can't be totally sure, since that I've been extra vigilant. Just today hot a charge too, funnily enough the same as you £3.18

Something fishy going on methinks

100% contest this. I've done it twice and won both times. The reality is that their record keeping is so useless that they don't know whether your parcel is overweight/size or not.
