I started looking for things this morning with my mobile
They now have the words "pre-owned" on the top line search results..so taking up valuble words in the top line decription
THIS MORNING n a mobile if searching for example: a ford escort xr3i alloy wheel
you would see results something like: pre-owned ford escort xr
so i thought maybe it's only this adroid application that had it on
so i searched using google and landed on that default one that gets you in here ..M-ebay or something.
that does the same
is this a glitch...anyone else getting it ..or have i activated something that i dont want?
are the techs really this incompetent, if it's here to stay then god help us!
who is going to search for anything we advertise if they get results like that.

It's under 'Options' on the right hand side but it's only available for a short time.

I also discovered this this afternoon. Absolutely hate it - I was very relieved when I checked on the computer and it wasn't on the search results on there too. I'm quite worried it will further decrease ebay sales - sticking 'pre-owned' in front of everything makes it sound like it will be in poor condition and puts me off buying.

Thanks for the replies so far: confirming what i had seen.
I''m surprised that not a lot people have added to this thread.
perhaps I'm not good at describing the significance of this change
That your main keywords in the title may not be visible to people searching on a mobile
There is little room on a mobile to show the "FULL" title line anyway ..and ebay have made it even worse by adding "pre-owned" in front of it.
I've read here somewhere that as many as 40 percent of purchases on ebay are now made with a mobiles.
if they are searching for a particular item, that means typing in more than 3 key words, then the results they get back will not help them decide..may even frustrate them causing them to go searching elsewhere on another site.
Yes i agree that just the words themselves are off-putting
Guess i wasn't quick enough to edit the first post.

i would NOT be inclined to tell them what i think
I would, but the snowflakes would have their community "values" offended if I really told them what I think of these pointless changes.

eBay has confirmed it is a small test rolled out on mobile that will be ending soon.
Was there a place on the device to "tell us what you think"?
That is how eBay acquires feedback on their tests.
Glad it will be ending soon, I don't understand why they would think it's a good idea to try it in the first place. It feels like they're just playing around with ebay for the sake of it. There are far more pressing and constructive things they could do if they have free time on their hands...

It sounds almost as if they want to demote used items in the eyes of buyers. Perhaps they don't want the used item market any more and just want to go all out and try and compete with am az on.
