Hi
Just had an email from Ebay about their latest updates and there's changes to the feedback process that I don't like.
Basically if an item sells and there are no problems, after 7 days positive feedback will be posted automatically.
It will say something along the lines of 'Transaction completed successfully'
I don't like this at all. Much of the feedback we receive is posted after 7 days and in many cases is far more descriptive generally. Some of our most pleasant feedback comments have come after 7 days.
I'm not convinced 7 days is enough time to allow customers to provide feedback. They are not all glued to the Ebay app, some items are gifts and won't be opened in time and some items may need installation etc.
It seems to me Ebay are trying to fix a problem that does not exist by creating a problem ..... 'Sigh'
Can we please have the option to opt out of this?
Thanks.

eBay are certainly stealing all Vinted's methods!
Actually this could work in favour for sellers and help with seller levels.
For example on my business account the stats for transaction defects and cases closed without seller resolution are based on 700 transactions whereas the late delivery rate is based only on cases where feedback has been left and in my example 437 transactions. So, if feedback whether provided by the buyer or added by eBay is now going to be left for all transaction then this should improve any issues with late delivery rates. Maybe it is wishful thinking on my part though"

I'm not sure that's right.
Do I correctly undertsand what you are saying? Late delivery rates are only worked out on whether or not the customer leaves feedback?
I was always led to believe that late delivery rates are worked out according to tracking of items and whether they are delivered in time or not.
This is pretty well documented and there are many issues reported with this method, especially with regards to Royal Mail.

Yes I am sure this is correct as there has been many posts on the boards over the years how unfair this is.
Your percentage is based on the amount of feedback you have received. For example on my own seller metrics the number of transactions for "transaction defects and "cases closed without seller resolutions" are 700. The transaction number for my late deliveries are 437. I have one late delivery and my percentage is 0.23 which is correct if you calculate it on the 437 transactions. If it was based on all 700 transactions my late delivery percentage would only be 0.14%.

Well well, I never knew that. It does not seem logical or fair.
Even so, I still wish to opt out of these new feedback changes.

It's time we ask some tough questions, like how ebay managed to get access to the guns it keeps shooting itself in both feet with.
