AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I don't think you need to explain yourself or your actions !
And my guess at the break-down of posts on this thread would be more like --
40% New posters often making their first visit or complaint.
30% Regulars with interesting comments or criticisms.
20% The OP acknowledging or replying to the above.
10% A small clique of mainly business sellers telling all the above that they're wrong.

You are so lucky to have that boot sale section.
Every place should have a online section like that. It would be a storming success especially if it was run by fairly local people.
Thanks rugbyguy but my problem is a lot of people who my be interested in my former eBay items won't know to look in the 'boot sale' section of the greater london bus map website, but hopefully word will get around in time.

Hi Everyone
Still reading along with this thread and I keep reading people saying that you only have 2 days to dispatch.
My setting is 3 day dispatch and that is what I have been given on the order page to dispatch by.
Sold item 1st may via SD had until 7th may to dispatch because of the weekend and the bank holiday. Posted it on the 2nd anyway and it was delivered on the 3rd and I got paid for it on the 6th may. (no feedback given)
Granted that was a very quick delivery wish they were all like that.
Didn't like that when I printed the label on the 1st it marked it as dispatched, but I suppose it is just like most other online sites. You get sent an email to say your order has been dispatched you check tracking and it says "we are expecting your parcel from xxxx we will let you know when it enters the network"
This is just my take on things.

With the uproar that there is here at present I don't think they'll want to introduce it anywhere else to quick.
Well at least not until they hope the uproar here subsides and they get more sellers selling again and more buyers buying.

If you use social media like FB etc couldn't you somehow add the Web address for that section so that you can help to spread the word.

I'm glad you found this thread and I'm sorry that you are yet another person who has found certain changes so annoying.
I know that a small amount of the posts on here aren't pure fact but many, many of them are factual and a lot of the posts have been very useful to other sellers. It just shows that there are a awful lot of disgruntled people.

And, changing the subject, ebay don't even offer the same parcel restrictions that Evri do. The 2.4m rule. I had to ship an item myself a few days ago because according to ebay a parcel couldn't be sent through Evri, yet according to Evri, itcould.
Also, UPS have a 3m rule, which means that parcels that could be sent through UPS can not be sent through Evri.

Because ebay have never cared about sellers.
The ebay list of importance....
1. Themselves.
2. Themselves.
3. Themselves.
..
99. The buyers.
Forcing us to use their postage system is security again. They are looking out for themselves and trying to reduce the number of fraudulent transactions they have to pay out on. Only if they are fully in control of shipping can they verify all the information. Oh, and, of course, they also make some money off it.

There is a famous english saying “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” but ebay trying to justify their pay cheque keep making more negative changes than positive. Clearly no one in the Ebay board room sells anything but only makes changes for the worst to happen and then work out how to put them right. Again Ebay working on the (Create Problem, See Reaction, Find a Solution) this is so uncalled for as most of us accepted seller fees and the way Ebay were charging extra on Postage. But sadly there is no End to Greed. Ebay want more from there business. They do not want a steady stream of profits. Ebay want more money, more control. In reality Ebay own no stock zero, Everything is owned by the sellers and the EbaY is just a platform which is shrinking by the day. Views are down, Sales are down, Private sellers still need to promote their item to sell at 9% ebay charge if you don’t you may not sell for months. So who says its free to sell?

People on the boards of these type of countries have so much money they do not need to sell anything on them!

I see that another ‘improvement’ has appeared. When entering your BiN price, you no longer get to see the Buyers Protection Fine without having to click on the exclamation mark above your entered amount. Amazing how the programming team manage to get these subtle changes to work overnight, but can getting nothing else right first time.

This is interesting as turnaround times is another reason, apart from SD itself and BPF, as to why I am currently on an indefinite pause from selling. On your SD listings, do you have the option to extend it to longer than 3 days? Along with many other people who work, I cannot commit to 3 days or less as depending on what day of the week someone buys it may be four days before I can reach the PO. I found that with SD I could not choose a 5 day option as I always had before. When I phoned customer service they told me that as a private seller I could choose up to 40 days as a turnaround option. When I proved to the rep that that option was not available for SD in practice, they said they would flag it up as a 'specialist concern'. Naturally, I have not heard anything, and did not expect to. However, I suppose there could always be the outside chance that they might have fixed it.................?!

When listing it had automatically gone to the 3 working days as that was my setting with custom postage.
So just had a look and no it seems the max is 3 working days.

not sure about your %s but i know for certain that over the past few years of using this forum i have never seen so many new posters. Two things usually bring them here, asking for advice (thats how i started) or wanting to voice their opinions (and yes usually negative apart from the regular supporters). Why would i come here to say everything is working fine, if it works fine then everything is lovely and no need for my input. One of the problems of course is that so many sellers feel frustrated because it is so difficult to do anything about all these changes, we know that muttering does no good but maybe (and it is a remote maybe) someone somewhere could eventually take notice!

Just had one. Posted an item with Evri (Simple Delivery) and it just stopped. No reason given other than "Delay". Next thing I know, ebay have suspended payments to me. Not just on that sale, but ALL sales, pending me verifying my account again.
Isn't helped by the fact that Evri only seem to have a completely automated help line. No humans involved. The computer, of course, can't tell me what the problem is.

A little bird just told me that things are changing. 12 days time.

I’m on SD and my “turn around” is set at 4 days, which is what it was before “all this” so can’t guarantee it will not change.

FOR THE SPECIFIC ATTENTION OF THE UNBELIEVER 'VINYLSCOT'
I have just come back from posting a couple of postcards at my local P.O. that I have sold on Ebay.. By ordinary 1st class stamp with a Certificate of Posting. which cover me up to £20 more than enough for the value of the Postcards...and FREE...I asked the Postmistress if she had had any notification from Ebay Re. accepting underpaid parcels? She said she hadn't.. I asked her what she would do If someone brought in a parcel with a prepaid label that was under the weight on the label. A she said she would add postage stamps to bring it up top the correct value..
I said to her "So if I brought in a parcel with a pre paid label that was over the weight on the label you would put stamps on to bring it up to the correct value?" She again said YES
You can come on here saying she can't do it SHE does do it.
PLEASE don't reply with the same old diatribe that SHE CAN'T DO IT
