AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Maybe that will be one of the many changes they'll probably announce in the near future.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Still not as simple as clicking on the RM site and paying for postage and arranging a collection for the next day and seeing a regular postie turn up lol.

At least they are much more transparent and as that site is absolutely bound to grow much more they are bound to make sure they don't make the mistakes that have been made here.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

That was well noticed and well put. But no doubt after the 20th there will be even more changes to come.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Very true. I ended mine on the 5th and 6th April after realising I would end up having to buy a considerable amount of headache relief capsules.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

At this rate Ebay will shrink at the size of a rasin. Sellers are closing accounts, I have closed mine aswell. Not going to be told how to sell and suck eggs. Been with ebay for 20years. Its not rocket science. Just need a honest transaction thats it.

ebay is NOT free to sell, the advert compaign is a HOAX. Buyer protection is a fee that paid by the buyer without concent. This should be optional as the risk is with the buyer.

That is why I can't see any truth whatsoever when we were told that these changes will benefit everyone.

Could be wrong but that sounds like a different version of promoted listings.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

That is also something I have no intention of paying for because if a big number of people paid for that then you would end up being no better off.

The one that really annoys me is the promotional offer where they will match the RM price for small and medium parcels until the 19th May.

After that the normal SD Price will apply. In other words that surely means a higher price for sellers ??.

There was no mention of an end date of the 'price match' in the announcement yesterday it looked like they had reluctantly accepted that charging more than RM rates was completely unacceptable.

Now in today's email they made it clear they have not listened or conceded the point and fully intend to charge more than RM rates going forward causing ongoing consumer harm.

These people are unbelievable. It's astonishing.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Have tinkered  with it a little but its pretty confusing and hard to keep track of the fee amount.

Think it's probably more aimed at business sellers that sell in highly saturated categories. One thing I have noticed though is when searching for items the ones that appear first seem to be the ones offering coupons.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

You are so right. Calling it a promotion until the 19th May and from the 20th May normal SD rates will apply is so wrong.

All they needed to say was "as from the 20th it will cost you more money".

I'm not sure I've read it correctly, but I had understood from it that the promotional rate would mean that all medium and small parcels will for now be charged at the small parcel rate. Then after that small parcels will be charged at the small parcel rate, medium parcels at the medium parcel rate.

So the promotional period is to give sellers time to re-assign any listings that will fit as a small parcel into the small parcel band?

If anyone is on mandatory simple delivery are you able to see a column with the current size / weight bands on the active listing page (ie this page https://www.ebay.co.uk/sh/lst/active)

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

My thoughts exactly. The we’ve listened to the feedback was an instant red flag. Like you said and I agree had that they truly had been listening to us all,  they’d scraped sd or if they were still hell bent on making it work. They’d at least switch it to optional.

Reading through the email. It’s all bs again about how great sd will be. Yay. 🥳

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

"A promotional postage rate

Until the new rate comes in, there’s a promotional rate for small and medium parcels (between 0-2kg) to match the Royal Mail pricing you’re used to. This only applies to items that are eligible for Simple Delivery, and will end at 11:59pm on 19 May. After this, the new postage rates will apply".

That is the message I received.

AAh I just clicked the view new rates button in the email and yes there now seems to be a table of rates for before and after the promotion. Although the table for after the promotion only covers up to £100 items so presumably the £100+ items are not in the promotion?

If I'm reading the tables right the RM-Only 2kg small parcel (for under £100) is £3.44 now reducing to £3.38 after the promotion ends? This is so simple my head hurts.
