AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Nowhere has it been stated that automated feedback is a feature of Simple Delivery. It just happened to be in the same announcement, on 4th April, to that regarding updates to Simple Delivery, US tariffs, etc.

It is becoming bloody ridiculous when certain “high ang mighty” community posters continue to “put down” acceptable comments and opinions from others.
As mentioned by others, you are a business seller who appears to be personally hung up about private sellers.
You state eBay will not back peddle on their recent decisions and changes knowing what they are doing, but is that really believable ?
They probably will have to do something as they are definitely “bleeding” at the moment.
Did they really expect the backlash they have HAD and are CONTINUING to receive.
Certain correspondents will continue to seek “ticks” on their postings totally disregarding others who are equally allowed their own opinions but who do it in a quiet and civilised manner.
Each of us, whether a business or private seller make our OWN decisions and it really should not be any one else’s concern.
To those of you that have already left or may be leaving the eBay platform, I sincerely hope things change some time soon and you may wish to return.

I asked thee girl behind the counter, who is also the owner, if they had had any notification from R.M. or Ebay to accept undervalued packets or parcels. She said they hadn't..I n fact she showed me a packet someone had just dropped off a few minutes earlier , with an Ebay pre paid label which was under paid. and she had just added postage stamps on to it, to bring it up to the correct postage value..
Stamps are not subject to VAT so cannot be used to top up a VATable service such as Royal Mail Tracked as no matter how many stamps are added the VAT element would remain unpaid. If she is supposed to be in charge and doesn't know that then that is actually pretty shocking!

This is true. However, with all the publicity around this, I can imagine post office workers simply taking their lead from disgruntled eBayers, who will no doubt have grumbled about the price. They may not know the "ins-and-outs", but they certainly hear the general comments.
As I mentioned earlier, I've had a couple of SD packages to send through my private account. The first time I handed one in, several weeks ago, the lady in the post office asked me if it was cheaper, and if I was happy with it. She knows me well, so I imagine was just satisfying her own curiosity. The manageress, who I have mentioned before, is really on-the-ball, and I know she spoke with a couple of sellers at the outset, to straighten out a couple of things which weren't too clear in the original Horizon bulletin.
So, the staff at my PO certainly know SD is not popular, and that we would much rather it had never happened.

Although you are one of the most active disrupters, I'm sure you agree that those posters, who are still pretending that the PO is turning away their SD packages, are simply wasting everybody's time.
I do have a private account as well, and have sent a small number of parcels using SD. I don't like it, and I can't see it as anything other than a money grab by eBay. There are some very specific circumstances where it will be better than the "old" system, but these are few and far between. To >90% of private sellers, SD is a "bad thing".
Whether it is popular or not, once it is well bedded in, and working better, say in a year or so, I'm sure it will be extended to some business sellers, probably those with turnover below a certain level, almost certainly including myself. Therefore, it's only natural I should take an interest.

I know its not popular with our local PO, but it is what it is if you will @vinylscot However like you I am against this mess, but our local village PO knew about this at the end of march, (as good as a month ago now).....

Dear Mr Vynilscot (Advisor),Thank you for sending me one of my 55 posts today. Never having come across you I am not sure why you should name me as "one of the disrupters (there might have been an adjective...I have forgotten) I realise that I am inclined to carry on rather a lot on a subject which irritates me, ( my family call it 'ranting') but I am always ready to take a reprimand if I feel I have deserved it....However, this is nothing to do with the iniquitous taxing applied to Private sellers, along with the dangerous SD, just a personal peeve.Yours sincerely Lamulady2
No-one is personally contacting you, you are simply receiving the automatic emails ebay sends when someone responds to any posts on a thread you have subscribed to.

STOP being pedantic, you and everyone else well knows this would not happen.
Firstly it would be an envelope sized item under 100gms, meaning if the item was under £10 it would be exempt, for which a tracked 24/48 service does not exist and the label to that end would not say marketplace seller. If it was an item weighing 2kg then its a small parcel for which the last time I looked there was no 87p price bracket.
In the unlikely event your scenario were to happen then the answer would be yes as ebay have some sort of MBA agreement with RM which will be based on average weights, not actual weights.
