AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I don't blame you and I wish you good luck.
It is so frustrating here now. Being told different things by different cs agents really doesn't help much.

But from when was to be 21st but then SD was to be from 15th so could take weeks

I think greed and envy would be better word than profit as there is no way this hairbrained scheme will increase their profit if drives away their core customer base , which is precisely what they are doing . Somewhere along the line they have promised the impossible to their shareholders and stakeholders
Simple Delivery may be a good idea for some customers if it actually worked but it is so unbelievably badly thought out and implemented . BPF and other changes are damaging sales performance for every private seller . The whole platform for private sellers has thrown into a state of confusion and whilst that might be seen short term advantage for business sellers , the platform is tainted and for a lot of business sellers Ebay is not their only outlet .
A key partner RM simply will not get the business Ebay has promised them . RM will actually see a significant downturn in business . Evri may benefit but their level of service will reflect badly on Ebay .
Ebay are committing business suicide at present and that is not helped by their pig headed arrogance and ignorance of Ebay management

I need to concentrate there instead of moping around on here waiting to see what happens next

And tomorrow we might get told something different 😨.

I am 100% agreement with you I am glad people like us are leaving Ebay. So they can have a taste of their own medicine. Simple Delivery is a CON, they have copied Vinted lost their own identity. Ebay don’t give a monkeys about their users so why should we. Business sellers can sell their stuff to them seleves because most sales done on ebay were recycling goods how ever many sold by a person. Now Ebay wants to take control of our lives. Simply Leave Ebay and Show them the way.

I just wish Good Luck to all of those that have gone to other options.

Oh Yes, I must add that the Simple Delivery is a 100% Scam because you loose your money. Yes if you sell your item and not use simple delivery Ebay will still charge you and they claim to refund the buyer buy do they? The seller is out of pocket. Ebay decide which service to use. I selected 24 royal mail ebay switched it to 48 for the same price I have charged the buyer. Ebay are keeping the postage funds. Enough is Enough. Time to leave Ebay.

Hi Ed Dreams, i think CS is open 24 hours again now. I just asked them the burning question of tonight. I think it is fair to say they haven't a clue. She spoke to the "Shipping Team" and the answer was ........ "we believe an auction listing will revert to "simple delivery" if it goes over £10."
Then there was a lot of caveats about new systems and she admitted they don't have "verbiage" about auction listings, just fixed price.
This must be the way it will work thought else everyone will just list at £9.99.

Instead of improving as days go by it's getting worse.
16-04-2025 11:34 PM
Yes it does! I'm not a naysayer, or conspiracy theorist or someone who thinks Ebay shouldn't make profits for investors, I just want to get on with things while its raining outside! But my listings haven't been converted, I don't want to list anything or refresh anything or even send offers which last about 72 hours now, so who knows what the postage will be or who will pay it if listings convert in the mean time.

Welcome to the world of beta testing.
They've picked the UK to trail this idea because,
A, we brits are an ingenious bunch of awkward bods and will spot the flaws.
B, we are an Independant shrodengers state in Europe and not in Europe. So a load of loopholes to exploit there.
C, we have a toothless consumer regulator.
16-04-2025 11:38 PM
They need to get peoples questions answered in black and white and set in stone or everyone's just going to be running around in circles for weeks on end.
16-04-2025 11:42 PM
I was recently refunded for unused postage.

On the 21st April eBay is separating letter posting from large letter posting, why god knows. But just looked at announcement again and there is an asterisk beside date, they are changing date to 23rd April! Probably thought would ruin St George's Day for the English!!
17-04-2025 12:04 AM
Sounds like invoices coming back 90 days? or never. It's the lack of combined postage worries me totally unfair on the buyer

I agree. Transparency and being told things that are definitive would be useful.
17-04-2025 12:15 AM
Plus I think they thought we in the UK would just have a bit of a moan and then just say oh ok.
17-04-2025 12:18 AM
It is horrible at the moment with things changing or announcements being made literally every 1 or 2 days.

"Ebay don’t give a monkeys about their users so why should we."
Exactly. I used to really like ebay. I used to sing its praises to family and friends. I was a "brand ambassador". Then it was a bit like a long-standing friend stabbing you in the back, but you made allowances for them because you'd been such good friends in the past. Then one day it dawned on you that this wasn't a good friend after all, and this so-called friend didn't actually like you one little bit. So why would you want to stay friends with them?
