AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

You always seem to know where the postage prices are now.

Earlier here someone said Tracked 48 no longer has a compensation value here.

I looked in the help section but all I could find there was "eBay delivery" and a list of couriers that didn't include Royal Mail.

Any idea?

I received a parcel today that had obviously been sent with Simple Delivery - totally ridiculous!

It measured 15cm x 18cm x 7cm and weighed 175 grams.

But the postage label said "Medium Parcel" weight 1kg. Absolute madness.

I don't think a more difficult and flawed system could have been invented - although no doubt someone is currently working on one back at HQ.

Glad I suspended my listings for 30 days while this gets rolled out and, if necessary, when the 30 days are up I will go live for an hour then suspend them for another 30 days!

There was a thread come up from ebay that sellers are supposed to check the final weight of items including packaging ,before listing the item ,they also said if it is deemed to be the sellers fault that the item got damaged or the postage was not right because of weight then ebay would at certain times recoup the money back from the seller .

Exactly, it's bonkers. There's no small parcel on SD, it's either large letter or medium parcel size. So nothing in-between. Your measurement should have been a small. I don't know why small has been axed. 99% of mine are small so it's a right mess.

I think you can change it if you feel it is wrong  like ebays estimate is too light or heavy . When you take an ebay  parcel into evri drop off shop they don't weigh them they just scam the postage label that you have put on the parcel and give you a receipt .

For me, it doesn't matter whether eBay makes its mind up or not, I've pulled all my listings which are now sitting in 'unsold' and gradually I'm copying the text elsewhere and removing them completely. I'm not putting up with this 'will they won't they' mess. They've lost my custom as a private seller unless they can show they have gone back to a simple percentage of sales fee system, leaving me to list how I want with whatever courier and postage I deem appropriate. If it's lost, my Royal Mail certificates of posting will cover low value sales up to £20, and the tracked system will cover up to £150. Job done. That's all that's needed.

I have taken all of my listings off, as I thought if I suspend them that ebay will just think I'm having a holiday and will put them all back on, so I just took them all down.

I don't use Evri, always used RM. At my PO they always put the weight in manually, they hadn't a clue about what I was talking about the other day when I asked if they knew about all this. It's just a shop in a rural area. It makes me very nervous.

Our evri drop off parcel shop which is in a resco express  was unable to print labels for parcels because evri had not given them enough so for 4 days parcels couldn't be dropped off not every one has their own printer so the evri drop off shops have label printing machines ,so I emailed evri to complain and this is the reply ...........

You’ve raised some very valid concerns regarding the service you’ve received, particularly the ongoing issue with your local Tesco Express parcel drop-off shop not having the necessary paper for labels and receipts. I fully appreciate how this is impacting your ability to run your eBay business and send parcels to your customers, especially with eBay now pushing sellers to use Evri for deliveries. I understand how stressful and frustrating this is, and I want to assure you that I will pass this feedback directly to the relevant team for investigation.

It’s absolutely unacceptable that the shop hasn’t been able to provide the necessary materials for several days, and I completely agree with your point that when a company is pushing its services through partnerships, such as with eBay, it’s their responsibility to ensure these facilities are properly stocked and functioning smoothly.

I also understand the impact this has on your business, especially with eBay’s new delivery system going into effect soon, and I can only imagine how this lack of reliability is putting you in a difficult position.

If it is more convenient, they are also able to drop their parcel off at one of our many ParcelShops - they can find their nearest ParcelShop here . They do not require a new label to do this, simply hand the parcel over to the shop attendant, they will provide them with a collection receipt and we will collect it the same day if it is dropped off before 12pm.

So all this "EBAY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSSES OR DAMAGE" for which
buyers or paying a fee for, is a complete lie.. Has anyone tried to claim
for a damaged item through Ebays new system?

Yes I prefer RM by a long long chalk ,and I have turned the evri button off ,so buyers know I want to use RM . We don't have smart phones or printers and the POs here don't have printing machines for us to print out labels so evri has been the one being pushed on us .

Are there any updates on this almighty mess? All my listings still show original postage options, which I hope I can use if anything sells. It really is a farce.

Exactly I still use the old fashioned C of P’s Just enter the name and house
number and postcode onto the form Hand it over to the person at the Post
Office they sign and stamp it That’s it. That’s all you need for low value
items value up to £20 There are two types, a small one for 3 items are a
larger one where you can enter 25 items. and it’s FREE..

It'll be interesting to see if you get issued Evri even though you've deactivated them. I have too but I'm suspicious after reading this thread that I'll get their labels regardless. My PO doesn't take Evri, not that I'd want to use them, so it would force me to get into my car which is shocking really. Especially as we can't add anything on for packaging etc.

I haven't come across tracked 48 not having compensation through simple delivery, I only know its £150 compensation direct with royal mail.

I've seen £750 ebay compensation mentioned on here somewhere but not sure of any details.

Will keep an eye for any updates.  My listings still haven't been changed to sd yet so still got a bit of time to get up to speed on things but will be taking them down if there's any uncertainty.
