AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Where I sent out actual sales under Simple Delivery, last week, with these sizes they were RM Tracked 48

I thought it only right to warn people.
I do have morals even though I’m protesting.

I prefer Dumb Delivery.

Morals v what you believe in. Now that's to close to call. But for me I'd go for what I believe in.

Oh and if Karma truly exists it will have fun here.

I just hope the fallout from eBay management's recent decisions get back to the shareholders and cause a scare that results in a share price drop with shareholders selling their shares in case they drop further.
That's probably one of the few things that will get eBay's attention.

Fleecebay can’t even be bothered to communicate on Simplton Delivery day, what a F’ing shambles. So I’ve decided to remove my 22 listings anyway. Besides nothing is selling since they added their protection racket scam (aka BPF). Removing these was quite cathartic

What I don't understand is why there is such animosity towards private sellers from eBay business sellers (and therefore from the ebay bosses who consider business sellers more important) ? Y ou can see it all over the various threads, and I was a victim of it myself yesterday when I brought up the unfairness of Simple Delivery. Most (genuine) private sellers are selling second hand goods, vintage items or collectables, often very niche items, so I don't see why we are seen as such a threat? Don't they understand that there wouldn't be an eBay marketplace for their business in the first place if private sellers and buyers hadn't built the business up from day 1? Don't they realise that private sellers are also buyers and if we stop selling here we are likely to stop buying here too? I agree there is a serious problem with business sellers pretending to be private sellers (which is what I erroneously got accused of yesterday because I am selling some books that my Dad wrote and that I paid to have printed for him in 2002 and still have a few copies left) and if I was a business seller that would annoy me, and rightly so. But why can't eBay's wonderful AI system be used to pick up on that, if that is the major concern of business sellers. It can't be difficult to spot surely? But ebay seem to be happy to throw the baby out with the bath water. It seems the overriding ethos is of contempt towards the genuine private seller and to be honest I am becoming increasingly doubtful that this mess will be resolved as I think they really do want us to walk. But perhaps they didn't factor in that many of us will take our buying power with us. Ebay were usually my first point of call if I wanted something - now they will be my last. All very sad.

Hi guys! New here lol .... There isn't a small parcel option now with Stupid Delivery, there's nothing 45x35x16. It goes from large letter to medium parcel with RM measurements which seems bonkers. And I've deactivated Evri but I have a few things that have changed to SD and say £2.94 so is that Evri even after deactivating it?? It's so confusing! I'm just nervous of something selling with a wrong label and then what!?? I keep checking but not much happening at the mo. What happened to the deadline!?
This is a wicked thread btw..... like, how many!???! 👍🏻

There is another issue which doesn't seem to have been mentioned by anyone yet: If a customer orders quantities of more than one, SD automatically bumps up the package size to the next category and charges more - even if the weight of the multiple sale is still only a few grams and within the first category. (Official complaint lodged - no reply yet).
SD fails to take into consideration choice of shipping for the best financial benefit of the customer. It is designed for the financial befefit of eBay - as is the unnecessary so-called "Buyers Protection" scam.

I don’t see any overall contempt to genuine private sellers. Just the businesses on private accounts which has been the case for years.

"And I've deactivated Evri but I have a few things that have changed to SD and say £2.94 so is that Evri even after deactivating it??"
I previously read something similar on another thread - the £2.94 price being the giveaway that it had 'defaulted' to Evri, despite that option having been unchecked...

From what I can work out £2.94 is for both Evri and RM activated. If you only want RM it should say £3.44

Preventing sellers from combining shipping equals multiple eBay SD charges and BP fees - though apparently there is (or maybe was by now) a workaround:

That's shocking really. That's now forcing me to get in my car and travel to the PO that takes Evri. That shouldn't be allowed! Fuming if that's what happens...
15-04-2025 7:05 PM
Thank you so much. From what I'm seeing there is a lot of confusion regarding correct weights and sizes and postal options but I hope someone here can help you more with your query.

As I've mentioned repeatedly before when they announced the sellers would be able to choose courier they simultaneously allowed themselves a breakout clause for that choice.
The ability to deselect Royal Mail should have been a red flag for everyone.
They are the only courier with full UK coverage so how is that possible?
Are eBay promoting postcode discrimination or simply know that most people can't see the wood for the trees.
15-04-2025 7:11 PM
Ah that's kind rugbyguy, thank you. I live practically opposite a PO but they don't take Evri so it seems totally unbelievable if you deactivate them but still end up having to use them. Unless they are doing some sort of a 'universal eBay label' where it doesn't say who you're using, just drop and it goes. No idea. Can't handle the non info thing they do too!
15-04-2025 7:11 PM
Imagine the shock for one of my local posties if the option given to him was evri. Luckily he's not selling anymore things here now because he's fed up of being told what and how to do things on here.

Ironically the CEO is on record saying that he thought the private seller/buyer group was their most important customer base.
I used to sell bits from my collections here simply to buy new bits I like more instead. Stopped selling so my buying has also diminished.
So they've actually created a scenario that *bleep* off the sector they consider most important.
