AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Well if thats the case and they are 'minding' our money for a couple of weeks we should be paid out including interest. (ok I know maybe 2p but its the principle) They are also withholding the money if we dare to use a different shipping method let alone hide our listings.

That's the only way they get around things. By changing the Terms and Conditions and making things compulsory when they make such unpopular changes. Users would never be asked for their opinions because most would say a resounding NO.

Plus we have no protection regarding our money that they hold. It shouldn't be allowed.

Unfortunately greedbay say this in their terms and conditions regarding interest:
You do not have any ownership interest in these investments and any interest earned from these investments will be retained by us. To the extent you may have any beneficial ownership in the interest or proceeds of these investments, your acceptance of these terms constitutes an assignment of any right, title or interest therein to us.

I spoke to one of my local posties this morning and even he has stopped selling on here because he's fed up of being told how and what he can do as a seller. I guess he's not the only one either.

Just a typical example of adding to and changing the Terms and Conditions without any consultation at all.

I should imagine the posties who sell on here now will be even more annoyed because usually their Christmas bonus is paid in Royal Mail stamps.

I'd be fuming 🤬 if I worked for RM and was told I had to use SD if I sold something. Plus being given a bonus in stamps would just be to much.

Imagine if banks slipped into their T&Cs they would keep any interest on your money? If the answer is they cant as a financial institution then ebay by hanging on to money is acting as a bank. Also 20% cheaper if they dont change it to 20% more expensive its trades descriptions. Use SD pay 20% more on your shipping.

Sold my last item yesterday and have now removed all my listings, been selling stuff for over 20 years with very little trouble until now!!
Note :- EBAY YOU'VE BEEN A BLAST, BUT NOW YOU'RE IN THE PAST......

It's a shame that they have ruined things for so many users. But I guess that's all we can expect when users just aren't cared about in any way.

15 Years and its goodnight from me.
14-04-2025 3:36 PM
Yes but by using the site we agree to those T&C if you want to list/sell an item, and all that goes with it.
14-04-2025 3:36 PM
20 years for me. And now it's resorted to this.
14-04-2025 3:39 PM
Yes true but most decent places would give users a bit of consideration instead of the take it or leave it options that are always given here.

Absolutely......call me old fashioned, but if I had a business,I would be ashamed to have to admit to having to run it on my customers funds, legally or not (having done such a bad job of it in the past).
Just for amusement,I had three items delivered last week, one was paid the same day,the other two I had to wait the two days.
Previous week,I had the funds available five minutes after the customer paid for the item.
Seems they are unable even to fleece us successfully.
Best of luck to all those who are prepared to have a go at SD 😞

23 years of happy eBay selling and happy Customers down the drain, and eBay are showing no sign of giving a damn about us.. for me and many others "simple delivery" would be letting the seller decide what mode of delivery they wish to use and not deciding what you do for you. What right do eBay have to dictate where and how you post your items.. it's disgusting. From what I have read eBay sellers are leaving in droves, I will not be adding any new listings

It will be interesting to find out from tomorrow onwards.

Playing devils advocate here, but when the announcement for Free To Sell was announced back in October how many read the T&C on that deal, or the other reveal at the same time that they would introducing a Buyers Fee and Simple Delivery, it all came out at the same time.
Or was it a case of make hay while the sun shines?
I’m just saying..

And those that haven't left yet are only interested in seeing what happens from tomorrow onwards.
