AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Perhaps it is time for Yahoo to make a come back?

Sunflowers4me59 - thank you for that. Its the first time I have seen one of those.

Loved Yahoo, and QXL.

You're welcome, I got it last year, it's the only example I've seen!! Hope to see a lot more on collections! I won't be using them any other way!

A quotation from February 2025 Mail Online
"PARCEL giant Evri admits it will lose track of eight million packages this year — 22,000 a day.
The delivery company, which estimates it will handle 800million parcels in 2025, predicts it will lose track of one per cent of them."
In March 2025 Mail Online added
Following a legal complaint, the article has been amended since publication to clarify that the figure of 22,000 represents parcels which Evri predicts will fail to be delivered on time, as opposed to parcels which will never be delivered, and say that the majority of delayed parcels reach their intended recipients. We apologise for any misunderstanding
So not 8m lost packages, but 8m late parcels - still a really bad service.

If everything is tracked then Evri know at which point it became 'lost'. I think it's called theft!

I have actually received a response from as a result of emailing Emma Gilthorpe emma.gilthorpe@royalmail.com . I am quite encouraged by the response and it is far better response from anything from Ebay so far as they show a genuine degree of empathy , and not just re-iterating the wonders of SP . I think they get the issue and are going to look into, which is a start. I did copy a few interested parties 🙂
For those of us that use Royal Mail as their preferred Courier for every £1 we pay Ebay in fees, be they honest seller fees or so called "BPF" we pay £2 to Royal so they have more than a vested interest. As said for the financial year jut ended I spent £800 with RM the previous year was nearer £1100 , it adds up .
I also spoke to a neighbour who is a serious Ebayer and my regular Postman who dabbles in Ebay . They are both aware of the issue but probably not the level of people on this post . The Postman did say things are quiet especially with me as I haven't sent anything since the end of Feb . In terms of customer discontent with Ebay it still probably hasn't peaked
Since Ebay announced Free to sell I didn't really sell that much more I sold a consistent amount each week , rather than a larger amount in 2 week cycles.

Just thought I'd let you know I'm back and I agree.

I think a lot are suspending or removing listings and some are keeping their eye on their listings to see what postal option they get given. It depends on what sellers are selling.

I'm not giving my N I Number to a platform for buying and selling that isn't even a UK company.

My last listings that I removed on the 6th are back in my collection. Can't remember when my last sale was.
10-04-2025 6:11 PM
Not a great place then. I'm just enjoying looking at all options.

Welcome back!

People moaning about stupid delivery on Mumsnet now, dissent is growing 👍
10-04-2025 6:29 PM
It seems like the more people find out about all this the more unhappier people there are.
10-04-2025 6:30 PM
Thank you. Will see how long I can last this time.

For some reason there seems to be a issue regarding no emails at all from this thread.

I came home today to find Evri had broken my letterbox trying to stuff something too big thru. The nice thing about the RM large letter limit of 2.5cm is that is it should fit through most letterboxes without breaking them. I don't think my RM posties would have been so stupid.

Well looks like my collection will stay as it is for now until I find another option.
