AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

"I am going to change everything to collection only"
Am I right in thinking that you have to have a smart phone for collection these days? A family member collected something on my behalf recently, and they had to show a collection QR code to the seller. When the seller scanned it, that proved that both parties were happy with the collection. For once this seems like a good idea. I've had things collected occasionally in the distant past with no problem, but I dare say other people have had problems. The downside is that it stops people without a smart phone offering collection.

IT'S ALL A FARCE , GREED AND NO LOYALTY. ALSO CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHY A BUYER HAS TO PAY EXTRA FOR GOODS WHICH THEY CALL THRIE SO CALLED PROTECTION FEE. I SEND ALL LP'S OUT ROYAL MAIL 24 TRACKED + IT'S INSURED FOR £150.00 SO WHAT EXTRA PROTECTION ARE YOU GETTING. WELL I'LL TELL YOU THE ANSWER IS NONE. NOW SEND OUT VIA SIMPLETON DELIVERY AND A ROYAL MAIL 24 TRACKED NOW BECOMES AN EVRI 5 DAY DELIVERY IF YOU ARE LUCKY. I HAD 150 ITEMS LISTED AS BUY IT NOWS AND NOW I ONLY HAVE 2 ITEMS FOR SALE. SURELY IF ALL SELLERS TOOK THEIR ITEMS DOWN TYHEN EBAY WOULD HAVE TO RE-THINK THE BIGGEST *bleep* UP ON MARKET PLACE TRADING.

I don't have a smartphone, just a basic mobile. When somebody collected something last year they bought the qr code on a phone and I took a photo of it. There is a number underneath the qr code on there order, hopefully if they don't have smartphone either they can bring the number with them. God knows if that would work but going to try, can't do sd!! I will report back if I ever sell anything like that!!

3 months ago I drove a 50 mile round trip to drop off a spares/repair subwoofer at the buyer's in-laws. Probably about £10 in fuel (factored into the price/my time wasn't!) and about 2hours out of my way - I was glad of the space to be honest. His Father in Law had the code on a piece of paper. 3 things I learned from that transaction.
1. I was home before I received the money
2. The buyer never left feedback
3. Never doing that again

See my post above. They can have it on a piece of paper

PARCEL giant Evri admits it will lose track of eight million packages this year — 22,000 a day.
The delivery company, which estimates it will handle 800million parcels in 2025, predicts it will lose track of one per cent of them.

I just closed all my listings, after BPF this confusing, complicated and expensive "simple delivery" was a final nail in the coffin. I think this time they managed to damage ebay beyond repair.

The buyer has the number, you just take note of the number and put it on your order. I have one somewhere, I will screenshoot for you.

I’ve never thought of ValueAddedResource as a woman. I think of them as a Kitchen Showroom sort of setup, though I’ve no idea what they do sell, if anything.
I’ve clearly not got enough on my plate today.

An example of the at code buyer brings with them, you can just put number on the order which shows,/ prooves its been collected.

Mine were changed on Friday. They all changed. One had an open offer on it and two were ‘in baskets’ when it happened. I don’t do auction style listings so I can’t say anything about those.

A quotation from February 2025 Mail Online
"PARCEL giant Evri admits it will lose track of eight million packages this year — 22,000 a day.
The delivery company, which estimates it will handle 800million parcels in 2025, predicts it will lose track of one per cent of them."
In March 2025 Mail Online added
Following a legal complaint, the article has been amended since publication to clarify that the figure of 22,000 represents parcels which Evri predicts will fail to be delivered on time, as opposed to parcels which will never be delivered, and say that the majority of delayed parcels reach their intended recipients. We apologise for any misunderstanding

Not a dicky bird! And even Kat from Ebay said nothing when I said I was no longer selling. No surprise really.

I don't have an app. What happens, you sell something on collection. Customer brings their phone/tablet/piece of paper with a number, (which they get from what they bought). They show it to you, you take note of the number and put that number on your sold listing, see screenshot of a sale from a year ago.
