NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I too listed my last one today - a 5 day auction so ready to take all down on the 14th (until eBay reverse their decisions) I will be investigating all other selling platforms for the first time after 22 years on eBay. So disappointed as I loved being here for many years until the gradual greed rot set in. But that's the USA these days.

Would love some recommendations.

Have you looked at many other options yet.

It's a bit difficult to mention other platforms because it's frowned upon if the wrong ones are mentioned. There are some posts on here that have mentioned other options if they are still visible.

That was a ridiculous message that your son got. There still seems to be bugs in the system but I hope he gets on ok.

I think a lot of us are keeping our eye on things to see how they pan out.

I used to love car boot sales years ago. Like you said there's no postage or packaging etc. Plus no buyer protection. And I like the idea of interaction with actual people. Maybe they are making a resurgence.

They really never thought of all the implications.  Less sellers, less buyers buying, and even some business sellers have said their sales are down. Things need to be sorted.

I worked it out and if I sold 3 or 4 items over a weekend that would equal what I've sold here since early Feb.

Just the usuals, they all have their pitfalls.

Never really had the impetus to use any of them till now.

You need to check carefully on things when selling on here.

Thank you. I'm not selling at present but I am enjoying looking at other options. I will still keep a eye to see what happens here over the next few weeks. It's bound to be interesting. And good luck if you find another option.

Yeah although they have acknowledged that combining SD postage is in their roadmap it's completely wrong that they are making SD mandatory before that is possible.

It's also completely wrong that they are charging the 75p buyers tax per item especially when it's already higher than the buyer tax per order at the place they are trying to badly impersonate.

Finally it's also completely wrong that when sellers / buyers want RM only the buyer ends up with an inflated RM price (possibly because it's tracked-24?) when most would be happy with tracked-48 as they are being denied a normal speed/price RM service price which you can get at the other place.

Same here. I've been on here for years and thought it was great most of the time. But since the changes that started earlier this year with Holding moner, BPF, and now SD it's becoming a nightmare.

It's an absolute crock of garbage  complete waste of time listing with unpredictable and uncontrollable postage options.

All of that is very true. But I guess they are suffering a bit by trying to fix what wasn't broken.

I don't even intend to try it until they set it up properly by loosening the ropes a bit instead of having to trust them which at the moment is hard to do.

I am not far behind, maybe a few more sales of things that will sell better on Ebay and then the world of Vinted or even Gumtree ( 😳 ).

My son has just been to send his first  parcel from simple delivery with Evri at a Tesco express but they haven't got labels for the postage labels so that was no good ,he only was given evri as the choice of postage not royal mail .The guy in the shop said they have been waiting for labels but non have arrived ,he said try the shop in bow street they might be able to help ,but bow street is several miles away from him  and my son can't drive so he hasn't been able to post his parcel . What a load of bo...cks it really is simple delivery my back side. My son is really cross .

I think it might be fun if you see people from here on some of the places they have chosen. Especially if things are working out for them which I hope it does.
