AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Ebay are thinking of joining forces with Etsy because both have been struggling recently and ebays shares have been falling .

Quick. Check my profile page before eBay suspends my account, I don’t care if I’ve gone too far I’ve got nothing to lose now, well my main page which tell people about myself I’ve added my protest message and changed my profile picture to something appropriate to my feelings for eBay now. Well I pressing the save changes now and I’m going to get in trouble I’m sure. 🫣😋

Absolutely right about moving elsewhere and leaving this place that will end up in free fall.

this simple delivery is a farce. So I’m going off the rails in protest against simple delivery.

To be honest when I first heard from Ebay that they were introducing the SD I thought that if I complained on here that everyone would tell me to stop moaning and get on with it ,so I have been very pleasantly surprised at how many people think the same way about SD many many more than I was expecting

what difference does it make in the end because nearly everyone commenting on here is a private seller and more than likely a buyer. The problem is that the new system might be fine for buyers but is total rubbish for many of us private sellers. Making my life simpler it does not do. I list my item and put the postage method and price on, wow how difficult is that! I sell said item and take it to PO, have friendly banter with staff as i hand over my pennies and then go home! Simples - as someone famous said. I do not want or need E Bay getting involved in that process. The staff always check on the size and if i have over estimated i refund the buyer and if under i take the loss, does not happen often as its normally pretty easy to work out.

Good on you for taking a stand to. They deserve all the negative comments and negative views from users who are entitled to have their voices and opinions heard.

Does eBay have any plans in place to make sure people have their correct address details on their accounts, as a seller seems to have no way of checking before sending.

super hyped up royal mai prices or a courier who if they don’t lose or damage your parcel might not even be able to deliver to you
hardly a great choice

Don't get me wrong, I am neutral about the BPF, but I am as anti SD as pretty much everyone else. Apart from the possible advantage to buyers of potentially being able to select from two delivery speeds, I can see nothing in it that makes it a good idea, and certainly nothing positive for sellers.
My point is that many of the loudest complainers (and now it seems, Youtubers), are not private sellers even though they have an ebay private account. Making a fuss in public about something that you should not even be affected by, seems to me to be more than a little foolish.
Edit, just thought of one for sellers, if a parcel goes missing in transit they don't have to refund and then claim from the carrier, big deal.

Great post. And very true.

Why can't they complain about the new rules affecting private sellers even if they themselves are not private sellers? They can see what is going on the same as private sellers and think it is wrong. They can have and express that opinion without being personally affected by it themselves.

But one of the said videos does state that they have a business account as well as being a private seller and buyer. I did not think you had to be one or the other. Unless that's hidden amongst the small print somewhere.

The great thing about being multi-platform in your buying and selling is you get a wider choice to buy from and you can play them off against each other for who has the most attractive pricing to buy/sell with. I've always known it but got in a rut with it being so easy to just do everything on ebay but this experience has been enlightening.
Of course I'm not going to list the same item on both platform as IMHO that's unethical and usually against the terms. I'll just pick which platform I want to put it on based on which might sell faster, for a better price, with less hassle and I am feeling more favorable towards.

From what I have been told by someone on here that I believe even business sellers have been complaining on their boards that they have noticed a downturn in sales so they are entitled to their views.

Because business sellers will feel the knock on effect when private sellers leave because of SD .People like me and my partner don't have printers or smart phones ,Ebay haven't thought of that and we have no wish to buy these things another cost to us .Ebay should have been grateful for what they had ,supported by so many but now they are going to struggle to keep selllers or even encourage new sellers or buyers . There are plenty of platforms now to choose from and so many sellers have spoken up against the changes it will be Ebays loss not ours ,they should have looked after what they had .

I wonder whose going to do the fixing of long names and addresses for them now.? I never understood why ebay thought it was the seller's job to correct errors in the data they had captured from buyers.

I'll definitely use that advice. I did the same as you for so long and just became reliant on this site but these recent changes have brought me back to my senses.

It's going to be crab shot for sure unless buyers are fully aware of what's going on.
Have always checked them in the past just for piece of mind more than anything, but have come across some with errors. Someone even asked to send to another address as they had moved house and hadn't change their address on here!
Some address where people work can be tricky as well.
