AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I don't think so i have been researching their past and some very interesting legal matters came to light. I don't really want to be associated with this lot anymore being an honest person as my feedback shows

Well I don't think we are the minority because if there weren't that many of us there wouldn't have been a article in 2 National papers this quickly.

I also think and hope a awful lot of things that aren't positive will start coming out.

They might get away with a lot on home ground but definitely won't stop them being looked into abroad.

Hello,
I'm a fairly new seller on ebay, only been selling a month. I have been using royal mail click and drop and picking tracked 48 and dropping my items off at my local postbox because they are pokemon cards and large letter size. Royal mail wont collect to my road for some reason, I work full time and dont have time to drive to a post office or parcelshop. The evri service is really bad in my area and I dont even know when the evri drop off is in my area. I am concerned when simply delibery is compulsory I wont be able to just select Royal Mail Tracked 48 and drop off at postbox. Is that true? Will I only have option to drop off at a delivery office or parcel shop or have it collected? Because I cant do that. Not to mention it looks like ebay will put postage price up? Buyers wont pay higher postage will they? So stupid we should be allowed to select our own courier and how we post it. Everyone has different circumstances.

It’s not a bug
its a poor forum system
every other forum I’ve ever posted on on other sites you can see replies to you,
except this one
Now why is that

If Ebay have any sense they will suspend Simple Delivery immediately , as they genuinely need to get sellers on board , which basically what they thought "sell for free" startegy would do .
However when they do get sellers on board they need make what they are selling , sellable again and they need to sort out a more difficult mess which they caused by dropping basically hidden seller fees and implementing very visual buying fees .
Their ad campaign is all about selling items that are worth below £20 and buyer protection fees has crippled those sales .

Your feedback is awesome like mine and that's the madness - what ebay are doing is going to alienate their best private sellers who don't want to see ebay becoming all sly, untrustworthy, lacking candor, disingenuous, using doublespeak, etc.
Most of us are just rational people happy to pay reasonable seller fees if they are presented in a clear and transparent way. There really is no need to use buyer fees, hidden postage uplifts, etc. The way to win the competition with other platforms is to keep the platform simple, low cost and be honest with everyone. Many people value that, a lot.

You say that but I’m sure over the years you’ve done well out of ebay as have most of us
just because they’re a company that can’t get their act together and continue creating problems for its users where there were none before through some hair brained thinkers at the helm doesn’t mean we should hope they die lol
but they do need to step up , adapt and be normal
it’s no so bad
mny many successful companies manage it

I asked my local Post Office people earlier today if they knew about SD. They said that they will get paid a small amount for SD, but it's less than it would have been if postage had been bought at the Post Office. As far as I know, not all Post Offices are under the same contract so it may be different depending on the contract.

The simplest thing they could offer sellers is to reintroduce seller fees and let sellers choose what postal services to offer. So simple and so transparent. But no doubt that will make them feel like their not so good policy changes have failed.

First step to fixing a mistake is accepting you made it - else whatever you do next is only likely to dig deeper.

So very true. Bring back seller fees. Let sellers choose the postal choices that work for them. And stop making policy changes so often so us normal buyers/sellers know what is what

Royal Mail & Post Office are two separate companies. The fact that a PO sells RM products (stamps etc) clouds the issue.

At the moment I don't think they know what they are doing themselves. I know as from the 7th they are altering listings so that simple Delivery is the choice and buyers can choose what service they want from the options you can give. Apart from that it's a case of watching to see what happens. You are exempt if your items are less than £10 and less than 100g.

Which is absolute proof of what's happening now.

Sorry out of my kudos allowance for the day yet again.

Will give your reply kudos tomorrow.

This debacle over SD reminds me of the seismic repercussions that happened when Gerald Ratner (Google him…) committed a momentary indiscretion which resulted in his company losing £500 million value virtually overnight, cost him his CEO job and probably made him a pariah on the jobs market. Although the circumstances are different, the total contempt with which ebay are treating their customers is exactly the same IMO. And the repercussions could well be more seismic than ebay expected.
