NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

All our items re last message are free postage but still came up with their simple delivery details. Someone else asked that question

I don't really care how they want it posted. I'm no longer selling because there appears not to be any buyers left.

Has ebay uk's new management kamikazed itself?

I'm sure if they reverted back to what it was originally i.e. 10% off the
selling cost. They would get as much revenue as they will with people using
this new divisive posting system. Maybe more with the numerous 'rats
deserting the sinking ship'. To me it was blatantly obvious they had
'something in the pipe line' when they removed all the selling fees last
year. Never thought it would be so draconian though..

Thank you, I'm glad you like the thread. I agree with all you've said. They have totally ruined what was a great platform. Forcing their money grabbing changes onto private sellers and buyers really is a bad move by them. Apparently although I can't confirm it for definite they will be rolling out Simple Delivery to business sellers when they've smoothed it out. Or when they've smoothed it out with private sellers lol.

I honestly don't think they know what they are doing themselves. It gives the impression of a very poor thought out money making move that they are making up as they go along. I think this big backlash by private sellers and buyers wasn't what they expected. It'll be even worse when they roll out SD to business sellers eventually.

I quite agree they seem determined to ruin the selling experience for private sellers.

It's just crazy. Most private sellers like myself are buyers too. With so many sellers suspending or ending listings that obviously effects buyers who in turn will have less options to buy from which means they'll buy less. It's been so poorly thought out. Their decision makers have a lot to answer for.

I spoke to a customer service agent recently and to be honest they were a complete waste of time.

If you ask them anything which isn't on their script they waffle on about anything but the question you have asked.

That doesn't surprise me. If management are making things up as they go along then customer service will always be behind the times regarding what to say.

I agree. The buyer protection farce has put a lot of buyers off so with buyers buying less private sellers are selling less. Unless it's all part of the grand scheme to hope private sellers stop selling so they can try gaining upper end sellers and buyers. But hopefully with such negative publicity they won't reach the targets they hope for.

Their tv advert says "it's now free to sell on ebay"...shouldn't it be "it's now not free to buy on ebay"...?

For private seller/buyers we are getting hit from both sides so the description of "free" is utter rubbish.

I have just had to delete over 300 emails received from this thread. The only problem is I am not even listed as subscribed do it. I have participated in it, but i only have an option to subscribe, not unsubscribe. Another ebay hash

Great thread. I sell vinyl records and this simple delivery is the last straw. I've always had great feedback with postage and packing. With there sm they charging a lot more than with me going to post office and doing it myself. Also when I'm paid I buy things from my ebay balance. Well that won't happen now as there will be no more balance as not selling any more unless sm is taken away. I have loads of records to still sell and end of month will be going to ebid if ebay not got rid of sd. I have over 70 followers so going to write on my profile why moving and where to. If ebay just took a percentage of my sales they would make a lot more than sd

I do apologise about the amount of emails you've received regarding this thread. You are right though because as soon as you participate in a thread you automatically get notifications from it. I think if you open one of the emails at the bottom of it there is a option to switch it off.

Just looked through all the posts but can't find further clarification on this. Does anyone have any clarification on the under £10 auctions. Is this only letter rate or large letter rate? I sell a lot of under £10 items which I use royal mail 48hr large letter rate which is £2.70. Will these also get changed over to RM under 1 kilo?

Also if I set all my auctions to away can people still message me as a seller?

Scroll to the top of this page and hit options on the right hand side. In the drop down select unsubscribe which will stop the emails.

I don't blame you. It's become a complete mess on here for private sellers and buyers. Definite one of the poorest decisions they've made. And if their hope is to attract higher end sellers and buyers then it'll end up being one of the best comedy thing in years.

Thank you for that. I never expected this thread to take off like it has done over the last few days but I've deleted most of the emails I received because I think some of the posts on here have been really good and interesting.
