AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Bonne chance

I'll have to start watching that again lol.

I also emailed both, don't expect answer but it made me feel better.

Lol. Well I think that is to much to hope for.

Same here. We'll have to let each other know if miraculous reply happens.

Just noticed my emails to jiannone@ebay.com get bounced but end up in spam ( which is a bit odd and i think they take a while for an Ebay mail server to reject them ) , however the Eve.williams@ebay.com is valid as I got a read receipt earlier today although no proper reply, strangely I did get an email from customer service not long after but that is most likely down to the complaint . But then I also got a mail announcing "Simply Delivery" again at the same time !!!
If anybody from Ebay is reading these threads you need to do be doing infinitely more than they are doing now . I.E hiding behind the metaphorical sofa hoping this will just go away .

I've had to go through my emails and spam folder as I've had just over 250 relating to my thread lol and so far I've not had any bounce back or reply from either of the emails I sent a lot earlier today. So fingers crossed they got through.

Mine haven't bounced back yet, although the one I sent to Eve Williams, I forwarded to Jamie.

I posted this elsewhere. Rhetorical question. If I list an item in auction for £3.99 with free postage, and it weighs less than 100g I can avoid SD , but if I get a number of bids and the item sells for £10.01 , I have to pay £2.70 for SD. If it sold for £9.99 I could send economy(second class) for £0.90 and then wait for what ever the current time is for eBay to release the funds. Oh, further complication is BPF has to be factored in. £1.15 on £9.99 , so ….how much….I can’t be bothered.. . No wonder I have given up, not listed anything since the 4th Feb. Hope they see the light….or are ordered to.

I'm removing my listings at the weekend and won't sell again until some proper normality is restored for private sellers. I've already made up my mind regarding SD.

One thing that I have noticed when I attempt to relist an item that I ended today due to this mess up.
There isn't an option for me to add international postage costs - just a tick box for me to list on the US/Canada eBay site

I just had a look at the posts on Reddit about this. Wow

I relisted an item to see how it works - and as I have set one of my Shipping Policies to include sending via the GSP the listing shows that I will ship internationally.
But there isn't anywhere for me to enter a parcels weight, it's dimensions etc and editing the postage policy for an individual item only allows for domestic postage.
There is however a very large section dedicated to Promoted Listings!

Excellent thread and I just felt the need to express my opinion about eBay’s controlling and profiteering policies. They are ruining it for everyone - buyers and sellers alike. Their so called Buyer Protection Fee is a complete racket. They hold sellers money far too long earning them interest. And they are forcing all private sellers to use their so called Simple Delivery, having to use their inflated postal charges, where again, they take another cut to increase their profits. THIS COMPANY IS NOW DREADFUL.

19 years ive been using ebay... i think this month will be my last. I dont sell enough to pay £240 a year on a subscription as well as paying for the fees for every sold item. This has killed small businesses where every £1 counts.

Have had 2 call backs and one chat session which lasted 40 minutes. All different advice. First advised us to revise all listings now to reduce £10 items to £9.99 and that the actual eBay listing price of £11.11 would not count as over £10. This page gave us 2 options - Special delivery’ or ‘custom postage’. We clicked the latter. One sold since but the special delivery details came up. We ignored and posted with own stamp. 🤞 On the chat we asked him to confirm the custom delivery would remain after 15th April after being given the option. After 40 mins and conflicting answers we asked PLEASE will you answer the question. He replied they would automatically be put on new terms of ‘special delivery’ so you will have to revise them all again. We had already spent an hour revising 50 items on first advice and ended all listings over £9.99. The plot thickens. Not sure customer service know the full details.
