My Final Selling Price has changed again due to Simple Delivery

OK, yesterday things started to go south.  Over the past few months I've been changing my final price using the eBay Fee Calculator which rounds prices up to the sensible £0.99.  However, today I've noticed that some of my final prices have changed.  For example, one DVD that I'm selling has changed from £2.99 to £2.42.  This makes no sense and the tool that I've been using is now useless.  I've been in touch with CS at eBay and they have told me that as a private seller I'll be forced to switch to Simple Delivery which is cheaper than the usual £2.99 that I charge for postage.  Apparently, the difference between my higher £2.99 postage cost and the cheaper Simple Delivery charge is the reason my final total prices are dropping.  Can anyone here confirm this?  It's so frustrating because once again I need to update my 900 listings so that they all end in that magical £0.99.  The agent informed me that this would be the last time I would need to do this as the changes (re: simple delivery) are now complete and have been successfully rolled out across the eBay platform. Right now eBay has lost its way and is in a right mess.

I would think the reason your item prices have changed is because eBay have just altered the Buyer Protection Fee:-

'Starting 17 July, we’re reducing the Buyer Protection fee to make lower-priced items more appealing to buyers. Active Auctions and Offers that were initiated before the price change will be subject to the old pricing for the duration of the Auction or Offer. See how we calculate the Buyer Protection fee.'
