Message confusion

I sent a message to a buyer letting them know that delivery would be on XX in case they were waiting in for it.

Sent the message & then followed 2 failed delivery attempts.

I've just checked the message I sent & I'm not sure about the message below it - have they raised a query & Ebay are dealing with it?

Or, has AI been confused by my message & thinks it's the buyer asking about the delivery?

Or, is it not really a message, just info from Ebay letting me know that the buyer gets all the info they need & I don't need to do anything?

Re: Message confusion

'And, as a buyer who has contacted sellers recently, I’ve not actually seen an AI features offered yet.'

eBay.ai  loomed up in front of my Messages, a couple of weeks ago. (see attached photo)

You can't get rid of it until you click 'Maybe later' - but if you don't want it popping up again every time you go to your Messages, you have to click the blue button 'Enable eBay.ai', then go to the Messages menu and scroll right down to the bottom where eBay.ai is lurking, and can be toggled off.

eBay.ai is experimental and may suggest inaccurate or inappropriate responses.

Interesting to see that it is 'experimental'... it can only be a matter of time before someone says they have had an 'inappropriate response'... the mind boggles... 😳

I think we can assume will be every bit as useful as the ai listing description tool...

Re: Message confusion

I had the exact same thing and i had just sent an order which i could see by tracking had been delivered and i had not received feedback,  so i messaged the buyer who told me she  had not “reached out “ to ebay  and was delighted with her purchase and then immediately left me glowing feedback.

this was quite time consuming with more messages than i would normally expect to deal with because eBay have put spanners in their own works and the cogs don’t turn properly anymore

Re: Message confusion

Yes, I think it has been confusing quite a lot of sellers, to get these 'buyer reached out' messages, when their buyer has not reached out...

We all managed to message each other perfectly well before this ai stuff... they always claim it will 'simplify' things, but more often than not, it just creates problems that weren't there before... 🙄

Re: Message confusion

Ebay - if someone within eBay reads this message can you please explain why sellers are getting these messages saying “ the buyer has reached out “ when it is not true.
It causes confusion and can promote unnecessary and time wasting messaging.
