I'm having problems with the new Simple Delivery. I thought I selected a up to 750g label by default as I put on a Nintendo Switch game, but it gave me 100g label - maybe it selects 100g large letter by default. With this you also can't change it after a bid has started or it has bought. You have to cancel the order, then get them to repurchase it.
Has anyone else had this issue, or it is just me?
Many thanks,
Michael

i have found if you keep switching from collection only to postage when listing a item , the custom postage option does appear if you do this a few times
then you can choose what option you want ,i do this and choose royal mail special delivery before 1pm for plants
but if you revise item after this it puts it back to simple delivery , so don't revise once listed

I had that as a recent problem. A framed print, sold for £60. Evri doesn't compensate for glass. Ok, so go to Parcel Force.. will compensate, but package too large. Brick wall. So go back to Evri as they accept larger packages but aware that I won't have any compensation. And what happened.. yup, Evri broke the glass despite how well I packaged it (and even buyer remarked on how well packaged it was, and commented, "what did Evri do, put a foot through the parcel?!!!") and I have no recall for compensation. This is why I want the right to choose the which courier, which service and compensation level etc. Simple Delivery is just that.. it's simple, for simple things at simple prices... not for anything oversize or requiring higher compensation. Terrible terrible process.

Yep - label correct, jobsworth at Royal Mail DO decides it's too heavy & issues excess charge to buyer, who then has to traipse fee in hand to the DO to get it, or send charge online & wait longer.
Ebay bot just takes you round in never decreasing circles & there's no chance of customer service even understanding what my problem is.
I am morally bound to despatch a crisp fiver in stamped envelope to console the poor lady - who is actually very sweet and gets completely how much the bureaucracy enjoys defeating corporate agreements
(PS - look up Jeremy Taylor's "Jobsworth" song - now antique but still oh so true:

The same philosophy also applies to the Simple delivery scheme and all other AI / IT systems designed to fit all circumstances.

Hi, no I’m having problems too. Postage labels are made for twice the amount it actually costs ( I usually only need a large letter stamp

Nope , that's not right, if you bought a label using Simple Delivery, but it wasn't used, you will be refunded, it will just take 30 days for the refund to appear for you.
Also, as there then is no tracking to show delivery , your payout will be released after 14 days.

'Nope , that's not right, if you bought a label using Simple Delivery, but it wasn't used, you will be refunded, it will just take 30 days for the refund to appear for you.;
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If this is a 'seller pays postage' simple delivery and the label doesn't get used, I believe the seller has to 'request' a refund on the postage.
(this cropped up on a thread at the end of last week ; sorry I can't remember which...)
If the buyer pay postage, the unused label will automatically be refunded to them.
There's no technical reason for the disparity here; it just seems to be another way to try and make it awkward for sellers *not* to use S.D. ☹️

Yes, that is correct. If the seller offers free postage ('seller pays postage' selected) and doesn't use the label provided then the seller needs to request the refund manually within 14 days. However, if 'Buyer pays postage' is selected then the buyer will be refunded automatically within 30 days.

I think Simple Delivery AI generated Postage will show the postage of what the Item is, and does not take into account Packaging, which is why I have never used it, for instance a CD or a DVD might be fragile and need more packaging, taking it up into the next Size Postage, i can account for this, but Simple Delivery doesn't (i don't think).... And I have read many people's problems on various posts on here, saying their Package has been rejected by the Post Office because Simple Delivery AI has generated the wrong size/weight label, and that Is why I have removed all my listings, as I don't think Simple Delivery is very Simple.....Simple Delivery also uses Evri as a Postage option, and I would never send anything or allow anyone to send one of my items by Evri, they are notoriously terrible
Hopefully eBay will listen to the backlash they are getting for Simple Delivery and allow people to decide which Postage service to use.

I’m not sure what’s happening here. I’ve read all sorts of different deadlines/dates for simple delivery becoming mandatory.
The latest was today, I’ve listed an item recently and sold one today, first in weeks, yet can still select custom postage and take to post office.

Yes, same here, I checked Sell an Item today, and I still have the option of choosing my own delivery service, but I'm still not Listing anything until I am sure, as I think they automatically change the postage in your listings (not definitely sure about that), but my gut feeling is it will probably take a while for all their systems update to Simple Delivery, unless they have seen sense...!!

Hi
I have now been using eBay for 23 years and would say Simple Delivery is the single biggest mistake eBay has made. This is the only change that has really made me now look for other market places to sell my goods.
I suggest eBay reverses this disaster choice out ASAP else risk a massive own goal.

They are now giants - and have let their original auction USP fade in favour of commercial sellers.
Have a look at rummij.com - currently taxi-ing in beta but on the runway with the engines on for full takeoff this year.
Free to join & list stuff; easier than ebay!
Be interested in your opinion.
(have to add that I do have a vested interest !)
